Getting to collab with people from different teams and markets within iHeart was enjoyable, as we probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to work together otherwise. Similarly, it's reassuring to hear other people in this role running into the same struggles / challenges. Learning that our messages are actually more effective when they're shorter was a big "phew" moment, as I had been spending a lot of time and effort curating long emails with an overabundance of stats and case studies that probably never got read. The eye-chart study showing where most people's eyes go on an email was cool too - now I know to pack the beginning of the first few sentences with the good stuff. Also, Jason's encouragement and way of engaging us was seamless. I often get (admittedly) bored on long meetings, especially when they have a lot of attendees and only 1 "main" speaker. However, I kept finding myself looking at the clock every time and thinking, "How the heck has it already been a full hour?" My attention was always held. The overall focus on all of us having this little experience together was super beneficial in encouraging each other to explore the lessons we learned. The group in teams where we all list our meetings has given me a lot of drive to want to do as much as I can. Having the templates and knowledge to teach Co-Pilot how to actually be a helpful tool was extremely beneficial. I hadn't taken the time yet to actually 'train' it, so when Jason provided those starter prompts, it set me up for instant success.

I was able to get 75% of the cost covered by my employer's learning stipend, but would not hesitate to pay for this myself looking back. I am an AE and was nervous I would already know much of what was being discussed, but I was able to dig in and find tactical ways to improve my processes and outreach. I learned how to make my cold emails more concise and personalized, without having to drain my free-time creates individual emails for prospects. In addition, I increased my confidence with cold call scripts. I also learned low-pressure ways to garner increased responses from prospects via email and voicemail that have already resulted in booked meetings, faster deal cycles, and a closed won deal. I was pleasantly surprised by how practical and usable the methodologies presented were. The tools could be put to use immediately. They were easy to understand but more importantly, remember long after the SKO was over. I would highly recommend Outbound Squad to any sales organization that favors implementing a practical and scalable process for developing and closing more deals. I participated in a SKO. I found the emailing and Cold calling workshops to be most valuable. Often times, when you get a cold prospect on the phone, you feel the need to pitch them in the 30 seconds to a minute they give you knowing they really aren't open to hearing anything you have to say in that moment. Outbound Squad helped me steer the conversation to learning about them and their issues and securing a first meeting rather than pitching them on the first call which never has a high success rate. The emailing workshop has paid dividends already. I get plenty more responses than normal and it makes total sense. I was always a little wordy and tried to cram too much information into an email. No one was ever going to read the whole thing. They helped me format valuable information in short message, because you can always send another email. It was great stuff. I would 100% recommend Outbound squad to other organizations for their sales kickoffs.

I participated in a SKO. I found the emailing and Cold calling workshops to be most valuable. Often times, when you get a cold prospect on the phone, you feel the need to pitch them in the 30 seconds to a minute they give you knowing they really aren't open to hearing anything you have to say in that moment. Outbound Squad helped me steer the conversation to learning about them and their issues and securing a first meeting rather than pitching them on the first call which never has a high success rate. The emailing workshop has paid dividends already. I get plenty more responses than normal and it makes total sense. I was always a little wordy and tried to cram too much information into an email. No one was ever going to read the whole thing. They helped me format valuable information in short message, because you can always send another email. It was great stuff. Key take aways has been all the cold outreach tips. Primarily the reverse pitch for the phones. What to say after a PBO has been tough for me in the past, but now i feel much more confident with the reverse pitch getting plugged right in after a quality PBO. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is trying to learn the modern ways of cold calling/emailing. I participated in SKO. As a BDR/SDR a lot of what was discussed was meant for the AE role. There were parts that did help the BDR section as well. It was mainly stuff we try and practice already in our role but I thought it was great for the new hires and the people struggling to see that if they just stick to the plan they will see results. The email overview I think was the best. i knew my emails were too long so it was nice to get a refresher in the format. Only thing that is a little difficult for that is for a BDR to write personalized emails to every single person would take way too long for how little responses emails tend to get. I think most BDRs took away the shell of the concept and made it our own on how we can use it in cadences. I would recommend this for AE and a small portion for BDR. I know you probably don't have control over that as you're brought in for "sales" as a whole.

Getting settled back into the work week, and completely revamping my prospecting approach thanks to lessons learned from Jason Bay w/ Outbound Squad from our company’s SKO last week. 🛠️ Retooling my phone game to start each call with a permission-based opener (PBO) like “I know I’m catching you in the middle of your day. Do you have a minute for me to share why I’m calling? Then you can decide if you want to keep chatting?” 🚀 Upgrading my email outreach to keep my subject lines boring and less than 5 words. My lengthy emails have got to go! Working on only including 1 call-to-action with a total word count less than 75 words. Looking for some big wins in 2024 and always appreciative of new insights and tips towards mastering my outbound prospecting techniques. It really helped us not only network with each other but have deeper conversations on the topics. 👍 Relating it Back to Real Life He'd open every session with a question. Things like: What's the biggest thing that gets in the way of you being productive each week or What percentage of everyday conversations do people spend talking about themselves? After our answers, he'd relate it back to something we all notice in our lives to introduce the subject for the day. He engaged us from minute 1. 👍 Working Through Problems Live Every time he would teach a tactic, he'd have us practice it in small groups and then ask someone to share their screens. He'd break down email copy live and he left room in his presentation for questions during the call not just at the end. He made sure to address what people were thinking in the midst of a challenge so the coaching could happen real time. He'd say - try saying this...or make this slight shift and help the person right away. 👍 A Detailed Playbook Alongside the Webinar I love webinars where it's easy to practice your notes in a guide. He made the daily guide something you could copy and edit. The calls were designed to practice writing triggers, developing personas, etc in real time. As opposed to only giving homework where its easy to let someone lapse on it - he built in time for us to practice on the call itself. 👍 Talking With His Hands 👍 Enuff said. If you can't open a sale, how can you close it? You can't. This isn't just for BDR's and SDR's - as an AE I learned a ton.
