Camp Ponacka is like no other. A magical haven for boys - my husband went as a child and now both our boys have been going for many years. We gladly drive from Ottawa each year to give them the experience of a lifetime.
The camp’s activities, values, traditions, personalized touch, and approach are simply outstanding. Don, Anne, Laura and Graham - the camp counsellors, the medical team, and every one in between is kind, kid-centric, safe, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making magical summers for boys.
The last thing to note - there’s very few places left like these for boys - spaces where traditional values are honoured, were they’re away from screens/tech, spaces for being fully immersed with others boys sharing stories and bonding.
Don, Anne, and Laura have amazing educational backgrounds that equip them with the tools needed to bring out the best in all boys and their dedication to taking any challenge head on is evident from the time you meet them, to when you fill out the camping questionnaire focused on all aspects of health and mental health. The medical team is well equipped to handle our boys’ medications and allergies. We couldn’t have asked for a better camp for our boys, and would recommend this experience to all boys.

Our family has a deep history of sending our boys to Ponacka. Our 10 year old son is about to head off for his 4th year going for a month. Ever since the first year, he can't stop talking about all the great times he's had. And each year, he comes home more confident and independent.
My wife and I could not be more comfortable leaving him in the capable hands of the staff. Don & Anne & Graham are beautiful people and truly love all the boys. They have worked hard to offer all of them the authentic Camp Ponaka experience each year. And of course the food..... our son Cam raves about all of it.... especially fresh cinnamon rolls every Sunday morning.
Thank you, Don & Anne & Graham for all that you do, keeping the boys safe and happy.
Off to camp tomorrow for another adventure. Can't wait to hear the stories. 😊 ❤️

Don't know where to start, being third generation now from my dad to me and now my eldest having a full month experience at Ponacka its a right of passage for boys becoming men! Our son came back with so much confidence, poise, and patience its amazing what a month of no screens will do and Ponacka life.

Just brought our son home after his first two week trip to Ponacka. In the past I have shown him to some very high end professional sports events and travelled overseas to some extremely interesting cultural intrigues. But I have never seen such a glow of content and deep recollection of the events, activities and friendships he made in just a short time at Camp Ponacka. Count him in for next year. Thank you Don, Anne and Laura!!! Cheers to the whole staff!

A beautiful place that was critical to my childhood and adolescence. I may not remember all the knots I learned, but I certainly will never forget the strength and self-reliance I found there.

I went to Camp Ponacka from 1985 to 1996. It was the best summers of my life. I had the pleasure of dropping my son of for his first summer recently and was shocked to find the camp in the exact same condition as my years: beautiful, natural, a true gem! My son will carry on the tradition for many years to come.

An absolute gem of a place! Our son has gone to Ponacka for the past two summers, and each time has come back flying high with confidence, joy and pride.
Ponacka offers its boys a real community and a model of leadership that is both fun and deeply caring.
