Whenever I give talks about
#changes and
#uncertainties, I'm never quite sure what stories I'll hear from the audience. However, I've consistently observed a collective sigh of relief that such challenging topics are allowed to be explored.
Last week at the ProductLab Community meetup, as usual, I shared a talk on navigating changes and uncertainties. This time, I was amazed by the open, frank, and deeply human responses from the audience. People shared stories ranging from minor daily plan changes to the turbulent emotions surrounding layoffs, from the poignancy of life and death to profound explorations of value and meaning.
Moments like these continually remind me that companies and societies are made up of people with thoughts and feelings, each on a unique journey. It's often assumed that workplaces demand an almost robotic logic and detachment from their employees. Yet the truth is, we're all human, with human needs, beneath any façade we might put on.
As we navigate this fascinating world of rapid changes and uncertainties, creating inner space to allow ourselves to process our emotions, and in turn respond wisely becomes increasingly important.
As a collective, what might happen if we gradually learn to create that space in the workplace, allowing us to lean into our humanity? What if we create room for poignant experiences to be present, explored, and learned from?

I joined the ProductLab Community in Berlin Tuesday evening to talk about “Onboarding Corporate Governance Data”. My main goal of the night was to convince the others that Corporate Governance is quite the cool product category (for some reason people assume differently....🙃). And judging from the discussions we had afterward - I was successful.
There were three main onboarding challenges we at Fides faced when starting to build our platform three years ago:
❓How do you onboard data that is hidden in some (scanned) legal document?
❓How do you make sure data is always up to date if certain parts of a workflow usually happen outside your platform (looking at you, Handelsregister…)
❓How do you deal with the lawyer's phenomenon of “It depends…” when it comes to data
Three years later we have an answer to each of these questions. If you want to hear these answers or are curious about our product or the potential of Corporate Governance as a product category - reach out 🤓

A Big shoutout to Daniele Ronca, the ProductLab Community & all the amazing speakers who joined us at HelloFresh venue for organizing Such outstanding Data Product gathering and bringing such topnotch speakers. 4 talks in a row where the focus was on very different aspects & very challenging topics:
1-Breaking Problems and Building Products by Rebekka Orth
We got the chance to be introduced to the 6 steps framework that Nuvo came up with it to assist Whether you need to build AI solution for the problem you have and How to make sure which type of model would you need.
2- Scaling innovation with Data products by Csaba Tamas
Here we had to know the difference between insights, information, and data. Also how the typography of data teams evolve and how to ensure to have the right setup at each stage so that the data teams can deliver in a short time and the decision makers take no time to steer well their actions
3- Onboard Corporate Governance data by Anisja Porschke
Anisja had to explain to us what corporate governance means. It was interesting to know how lawyers prefer to work with documents rather than having cloud solutions and a whole journey with Fides to build a legal product.
4-Decision support platform by Dr. Utku Yildirim
An amazing presentation about KPI driver trees. We got to know how different KPIs are structured together and the cycle of How changes in product KPIs could influence Customer KPIs and deliver the intended Business KPIs.
The Bonus short talk from Goktug Yilmaz and How they think about improvements, testing their ideas at Colonist, and keeping data in check was on point.
A well-organized gathering with lots to offer, IMHO better than many paid conferences. How could I forget about the amazing food and the Djs that set the mode with the music till the end of the gathering after the talks!

It was quite an interesting session with ProductLab Community listening to experts speak on Building and maintaining data products, as well AI strategies for development and the dynamics of the team structure to support smooth Data Product Development.

How data driven decisions drive top line 📈
🇩🇪I joined a PM meetup in Berlin tonight organised by ProductLab Community. Daniele Ronca - Kudos to a great event btw 🙌
🔢 Csaba Tamas from AWS held a keynote defining how to become a data driven company:
1. The large majority (›85%) of decisions are based on up-to-date, actionable insights at the point of impact as opposed to gut feeling and biases.
2. Data assets and capabilities are handled as (internal) products, served by the data producers to the consumers and measured by performance and quality metrics.
3. Average Time-to-Insight is used as initial
performance metric and % of Staff Accessing Role-Relevant Insights is the metric of progress.

It all started on a̶ ̶c̶̶r̶̶i̶̶s̶̶p̶̶ ̶ an unnecessarily hot Berlin day when I d̶r̶a̶g̶g̶e̶d̶ invited my friend to a ProductLab Community event organised by Daniele Ronca at Ahoy! Berlin. Now, Daniele might not be on Forbes' radar 𝙮𝙚𝙩, but the event was fantastic. We met some fascinating people, listened to great talks, and got some excellent book recommendations (Danke, Ken—Marty Cagan’s book is next on my list after “Move Fast and Fix Things” <3 by Frances Frei & Moriss).
One of the presenters, 🥙Abdo Wahba, offered a chance to chat and get some honest, unfiltered feedback. He said he brings order to chaos and chaos to order, where needed.
Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.
I was looking for straightforward, actionable feedback—something that cuts through the fluff and gets straight to the point. And he delivered just that. His feedback was refreshingly direct, no-nonsense and packed with practical, actionable advice.
So here’s a nod to 🥙Abdo for bringing that much-needed mix of order and chaos.

I joined the ProductLab Community in Berlin Tuesday evening to talk about “Onboarding Corporate Governance Data”. My main goal of the night was to convince the others that Corporate Governance is quite the cool product category (for some reason people assume differently....🙃). And judging from the discussions we had afterward - I was successful.
There were three main onboarding challenges we at Fides faced when starting to build our platform three years ago:
❓How do you onboard data that is hidden in some (scanned) legal document?
❓How do you make sure data is always up to date if certain parts of a workflow usually happen outside your platform (looking at you, Handelsregister…)
❓How do you deal with the lawyer's phenomenon of “It depends…” when it comes to data

A Big shoutout to Daniele Ronca, the ProductLab Community & all the amazing speakers who joined us at HelloFresh venue for organizing Such outstanding Data Product gathering and bringing such topnotch speakers. 4 talks in a row where the focus was on very different aspects & very challenging topics:
1-Breaking Problems and Building Products by Rebekka Orth
We got the chance to be introduced to the 6 steps framework that Nuvo came up with it to assist Whether you need to build AI solution for the problem you have and How to make sure which type of model would you need.
2- Scaling innovation with Data products by Csaba Tamas
Here we had to know the difference between insights, information, and data. Also how the typography of data teams evolve and how to ensure to have the right setup at each stage so that the data teams can deliver in a short time and the decision makers take no time to steer well their actions
3- Onboard Corporate Governance data by Anisja Porschke
Anisja had to explain to us what corporate governance means. It was interesting to know how lawyers prefer to work with documents rather than having cloud solutions and a whole journey with Fides to build a legal product.
4-Decision support platform by Dr. Utku Yildirim
An amazing presentation about KPI driver trees. We got to know how different KPIs are structured together and the cycle of How changes in product KPIs could influence Customer KPIs and deliver the intended Business KPIs.
The Bonus short talk from Goktug Yilmaz and How they think about improvements, testing their ideas at Colonist, and keeping data in check was on point.
A well-organized gathering with lots to offer, IMHO better than many paid conferences. How could I forget about the amazing food and the Djs that set the mode with the music till the end of the gathering after the talks!

It was quite an interesting session with ProductLab Community listening to experts speak on Building and maintaining data products, as well AI strategies for development and the dynamics of the team structure to support smooth Data Product Development.

How data driven decisions drive top line 📈
🇩🇪I joined a PM meetup in Berlin tonight organised by ProductLab Community. Daniele Ronca - Kudos to a great event btw 🙌
🔢 Csaba Tamas from AWS held a keynote defining how to become a data driven company:
1. The large majority (›85%) of decisions are based on up-to-date, actionable insights at the point of impact as opposed to gut feeling and biases.
2. Data assets and capabilities are handled as (internal) products, served by the data producers to the consumers and measured by performance and quality metrics.
3. Average Time-to-Insight is used as initial
performance metric and % of Staff Accessing Role-Relevant Insights is the metric of progress.

It all started on a̶ ̶c̶̶r̶̶i̶̶s̶̶p̶̶ ̶ an unnecessarily hot Berlin day when I d̶r̶a̶g̶g̶e̶d̶ invited my friend to a ProductLab Community event organised by Daniele Ronca at Ahoy! Berlin. Now, Daniele might not be on Forbes' radar 𝙮𝙚𝙩, but the event was fantastic. We met some fascinating people, listened to great talks, and got some excellent book recommendations (Danke, Ken—Marty Cagan’s book is next on my list after “Move Fast and Fix Things” <3 by Frances Frei & Moriss).
One of the presenters, 🥙Abdo Wahba, offered a chance to chat and get some honest, unfiltered feedback. He said he brings order to chaos and chaos to order, where needed.
Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity.
I was looking for straightforward, actionable feedback—something that cuts through the fluff and gets straight to the point. And he delivered just that. His feedback was refreshingly direct, no-nonsense and packed with practical, actionable advice.
So here’s a nod to 🥙Abdo for bringing that much-needed mix of order and chaos.

London was a lighting talk, so two stories and wrap up
Berlin was a longer slot, so while I listened to advice and cut a lot of content I should have cut more - or ignored the time limit!
