Rendever has been a special tool for us in our long term care home. Programs such as tours, exercise groups and even personal google search options have really opened a lot of opportunities for Resident engagement. The Team at Rendever is constantly thinking outside the box and is always available whenever we need them. It's been a great experience all together. I’m so excited to see our newest Oak & Ivy communities continue our amazing partnership with Rendever! Which in my opinion is one of the most innovative, engaging and inspiring technologies on the market. We have gone from one pilot community in 2020 to now offering Rendever in all of our 89 communities and counting! There is no other VR platform that delivers such a high quality experience. The look, feel and use of Rendever for both the facilitator and end user reminds me of the ease of use and creative design of Apple. Throughout the years since bringing VR into our communities, I have witnessed a tremendous positive impact on the engagement of our residents and team members when using Rendever and now Rendever Fit. Everyone likes to have fun at work, and our teams love using Rendever with our residents and their loved ones. This technology has helped with reducing social isolation and re-engaging residents who aren’t interested in group activities (although VR is good for that too). VR in Senior Housing is not the future, it is NOW! Our seniors, especially those with dementia, benefit greatly from this technology, allowing us to provide them with experiences and relationships outside of the community walls. Our residents are able to expand their worlds by doing things in a VR that they have always wanted to do… like sky diving, or can no longer do… like travel and explore new places. We love Rendever and use it 3-4 times a week at our seniors facility. It is highly successful with a wide range of seniors, including high functioning residents, those with some visual impairment and residents with language barriers and more. The support team is fantastic also and provides wonderful training sessions and resources for us. I highly recommend Rendever and have shared my recommendation with other seniors facilities! My only complaint is that the headsets disconnect at times, but this may be moreso because of our wifi in our building. Strong wifi is needed.

Innovation and Immersive Technology Outreach at CAVHS! July 4th is a perfect time to stop and give thanks to Veterans across the US for the freedoms we enjoy daily but also specifically to thank the Veterans from Central Arkansas that we have the privilege of serving at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System AND think about next steps as we continue to explore the use of innovation education principles to engage front line staff #VHAInnovation and how to use immersive technology to support healthy Veterans and get #headsinheadsets, #VHAImmersive. June was a BUSY month as we provided VR demos to our Veterans during the DAV State Convention in North Little Rock, Ladies Day Out in Benton, and Veteran Engagement in Mena. We also focused on engaging staff with VR including our VISN 16 Leadership Development Institute cohorts from CAVHS and the Fayetteville VA to demo the Honor Everywhere immersion which will now be coming to every facility in VISN 16 AND we hosted a iNET Greenhouse Discovery day focused on collaborating with the team from Sterile Geeks who have developed a Sterile Processing Training Platform using Augmented Reality. We had 25 front line staff from SPS and OR provide feedback on the system. Days following staff were asking “When can we get the system?” In addition, we toured the Emerging Analytics Center at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock with CAVHS Nursing leadership to explore the possibility of collaboration to support our CAVHS Veterans…more to come on this front.
