I was invited to participate as a mentor with Rewriting the Code, and it has been a truly rewarding experience. I chose to get involved because I strongly believe in the importance of mentorship, especially for early-career women navigating the tech industry. Sharing lessons from my own journey and hearing the ambitions and challenges of these bright, driven individuals was both inspiring and humbling. RTC creates a thoughtful and inclusive space where meaningful conversations happen. The structure of the Mentor Circles encouraged honest, focused dialogue, and I left the session feeling energized by the next generation of tech leaders. One of the most memorable aspects was the openness and curiosity of the participants. Their questions showed a genuine desire not just to grow professionally, but to define success on their own terms. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute and would gladly support RTC’s mission again in the future. 

The Early Talent team at Zillow has had a great experience partnering with Erica to connect with the driven and talented women of RTC. Our team was looking to increase representation in our Early Talent pipeline by partnering with an organization that was dedicated towards providing career development resources for women in tech. RTC met that call and more. Throughout our time as a partner, RTC led with transparency and earnestly sought out opportunities to upskill and connect their students to their partners. Our team thoroughly enjoyed meeting each student and consistently felt reinvigorated after each event.

We have had nothing but positive experiences working with Rewriting the Code. Our involvement in all the events has given us access to so many talented students in tech. We love how well-prepared the students are due to RTC’s programming. Also - working with Erica has made the planning process seamless. RTC has provided us insights on how to make the most out of our partnership. We love their commitment to setting up young women in tech for success through connection with industry engineers and educational experiences, while fostering a supportive and inclusive culture. We are excited to continue growing our relationship with Rewriting the Code!

Supporting organizations like Rewriting the Code is not only the right thing to do, but it’s also important for us to reach our goals of creating a diversified workforce. At Bank of America, we strive to maintain a female employee base of 50% or more across all lines of business. This is particularly imperative when building the best technology for our customers. To do that, we need a diverse talent pool reflecting our clients and communities.

Our recent summer internship class was made up of 46% women. Rewriting the Code has assisted us in reaching students and showcasing Bank of America as a top tech employer. Through sponsorship opportunities and custom event options, our team has connected with hundreds of highly qualified RTC candidates, several of whom have joined our team as full-time employees. 

Hearing the personal stories of this highly diverse talent base – why they decided to pursue careers in STEM, and what they hope to personally achieve inspires us. This gives us an understanding of how we can contribute to their ongoing success. Through our discussions with these students, we have been able to better understand particular areas of interest that we can support, for example, programs like our Grace Hopper Celebration sponsorship. This program provides RTC students with the opportunity to join us at the Grace Hopper Celebration to experience engaging with Bank of America employees, and our culture, in a unique way, including being some of the first to receive access to our opportunities. Building these personal relationships with the candidates provides us with invaluable insights into the workforce of the future and supports our ability to retain the best female tech talent.

Salesforce is very happy to be partnered with Rewriting the Code to support the career development and career journeys for women in tech! We’ve had an amazing experience with their organization and leadership team from pre- to post-events and general engagement planning. We have appreciated how seamless their team operates, how swiftly the RTC team responds to any questions, and how engaged their members continue to be. We are very excited to continue this partnership! So far a highlight has been the virtual fall career fair where we were able to connect with so many student members and build a strong pipeline of candidates to our internship and New Grad roles.

I became a partner of RTC because I believe in Sue's vision and commitment to Women in CS. RTC isn't just a community. It is a center of learning and development for Women pursuing careers in tech. When we interact with students from RTC, they are job ready, and we know that their transition into the tech workforce is supported not only by us but by RTC. Supporting Black Wings and seeing the intentionality of supporting and celebrating the intersections within the community (including Latinas de RTC) is a highlight of our partnership.
