Just wrapped up Running Remote — a conference where I met some of the brilliant humans I previously only knew as pixels on a screen (cc Sarah McLamb, Kasia Triantafelo, Meaghan Williams to name a few!)
The sessions were refreshingly actionable: Data driven research with clear takeaways (cc Prithwiraj Choudhury, Nick Bloom), honest use cases of what’s actually working (and not working) in the world of distributed work, AI, and experimentation (cc Karine MATHIEU, PMP®, Bretton Putter, Alina Jesien and “JJ” Jessica Reeder). I've got many pages of insights to process but a main takeaway: Organizations that prioritize digital-first, distributed teams are better equipped to handle AI transformations and build the Future of Work.
Instead of performative lectures, I got a collective peek under the hood of how others are iterating the future of work, transparent conversations with colleagues and tactical insights from experts. Can't wait to return to this one next year!

My heart and mind are still buzzing from my time at Running Remote. I'm grateful for this community sharing new ideas and iterative approaches to building world-class operational/cultural infrastructure for distributed teams.
The conversations that left the biggest imprint were those about life. The health challenges at home, the grieving behind the shiny presentation deck, the celebration of being on the positive side of a diagnosis.
Keep pushing for robust documentation. Keep pushing for project management tools to organize work. Keep pushing for workplace systems that improve the flow of communication.
But most of all, keep pushing for margin. That's where innovation is found. That's where the world's healthiest organizations put down roots.

Had a great time representing Triple-A at Running Remote in Austin. The event brought together brilliant speakers covering everything from AI automation to employee engagement.
My key takeaway for payments: global remote workers are still underserved when it comes to payroll. Many leaders I spoke with want to pay contractors and employees in stablecoins, but lack a compliant, plug-and-play solution. That gap limits hiring or forces companies to build payroll capabilities in-house.
That’s where providers like Triple-A come in, handling the back end so remote-first companies can focus on hiring the best talent, wherever they are.
Already looking forward to next year!

Just landed back in Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 yesterday after an incredible week in Austin for Running Remote. Here are a few highlights, and a testament to the beauty of this virtual world we live and work in.
While the conference takeaways were powerful (more on those below), what stood out was the magic of in-person connection after years of virtual collaboration and friendships.
Connection Highlights:
✨ Meeting up with Mitchell Cohen (who helped with the launch of my first local/foreigner connection event in Buenos Aires 2 yrs ago), and connecting IRL with Jordan Carroll, who had virtually introduced us back then. Full circle moment: the three of us finally meeting in person for cold plunges, sauna, and great conversations in Austin.
✨ Finally meeting Paige Goldstein at a fun local Austin café after years of virtual connection, sharing about our global lifestyles, growth abroad, and shared passions. It felt like we’d known each other forever. 💓
✨ Connecting with Minwoo (Chris) Nam of Insured Nomads IRL after years of virtual collaboration, and a fun feature on their podcast while I was living in Rio 🇧🇷.
Running Remote Highlights:
💡 More awesome virtual-to-IRL connections, including people I’ve followed and respected their work in the remote space for years, like Chase Warrington!
🎤 Engaging talks, panels, and conversations with folks from all over, learning more about the evolving landscape of remote and hybrid work.
🧠 Inspiring conversations by HR leaders that reminded me of my own time in HR, and my long-standing passion for improving employee happiness and engagement. Now, I get to support clients in finding happiness and fulfillment in the roles and the work environments they choose. So cool to see this evolution.
A theme that stood out: the power of connection and intentionality.
Two things I also advocate for as a coach. Both are possible in the remote space, but they don’t happen by accident. It was refreshing to hear leaders share how they’re intentionally fostering both through in-person retreats, virtual connection practices, and cross-cultural strategies.
And another big theme: flexible work is here to stay. It’s continuing to evolve, but what stands out to me is the beauty of choice, employees having the ability to select the work model that best supports their fulfillment and happiness, whether that’s remote, hybrid, or in-office.
Big thanks to the Running Remote team for a great first conference experience in Austin! Loved the community feel at this event!
➕ Added Bonus:
After the conference, I took a few days offline to be fully present with my sisters (who flew in!) and to spend time with our cousin who lives in Austin. So special, especially living across the globe from most of my loved ones.

Returned last week from Running Remote 2025 and feeling energized. It was so good to be in person with people who care deeply about flexibility, digital-first practices, and building thoughtful cultures in distributed environments.
A few themes that are sticking with me:
💡Remote work isn’t going anywhere. The data backs it up, and smart companies are investing in it intentionally.
📍Offices aren’t destinations - they’re tools. When used strategically, they can create meaningful moments of connection and alignment. Seeing Atlassian's approach first-hand at their office was especially inspiring.
🤝In-person gatherings matter, but they take real operational work to do well. It’s not just about how often we meet, but how well we design those moments.
📚AI came up in nearly every conversation. No one has it fully figured out, but a culture of documentation puts companies ahead.
🎯 And the reminder I shared in my lightning talk: the best way to engage employees is by supporting the managers who lead them - remove friction and engagement will follow.

My last post said Sightly was REMOTE - and I learned something new - so I need to update how I speak about it. 🤔
🎓 What I learned at the Running Remote conference, and from Perplexity, is that “remote” describes an individual and “distributed” describes the company. A company is distributed if there is no “central office”.
So, we are a distributed company with remote employees. 🫶
‼️ ‼️ Where this gets REALLY exciting is when you talk about being distributed and it includes your AI agents and AI tools. Howard Lerman from Roam spoke about this on stage at RR and connected the dots for me: the future of work incorporates AI agents, and being distributed already puts us ahead of the game - especially if we continue to move fast with incorporating AI into our practices - Let’s GO!! 🤖
🤍 This remote/distributed focused community is so welcoming and I am happy to be a part of it! My head is still swirling with ideas from this year's Running Remote in Austin, y'all!
I had the absolute pleasure of moderating two panels with some of the most thoughtful, creative leaders:
📣 Crystal O'Neill and Travis McAshan lead B-Corp certified organizations, but our discussion was about so much more than the certification process; it was about purpose, transparency and human-centric leadership, the responsibility of organizations through a polycrisis, and how to codify your values and reinforce them every day.
📣 Chris Patrick, Sarah Walker and Vinícius Coelho — I think I speak for the entire audience when I say that I’m so grateful for your promising practices, tool recommendations and philosophical approaches to work, from AI bots and AI coach ride alongs to channel-first communication and remaining "people-centric but business first."
I captured some insights in today’s Charter Pro digest, too, including:
👉 Nick Bloom predicts WFH levels will remain stable during a recession, with most companies maintaining remote policies for cost efficiency. Looking ahead 5-10 years, he sees remote work increasing as technology improves, assuring a packed room: "Work from home is very much here to stay."
👉 "Bots will separate human capital from the human," noted bestselling author Prithwiraj Choudhury, enabling an unprecedented scaling of human capital. He also shared a fascinating project he worked on with Zapier CEO Wade Foster where they created a personal bot for Wade trained to impersonate him in content and style, and asked employees to guess if Wade’s answers came from Wade or his bot, which they correctly guessed 59% of the time. However, if an employee thought the answer came from a bot, they thought it was less helpful, which scholars call “algorithm aversion.”
👉 Digital-first knowledge management gives companies a competitive advantage in AI implementation. “JJ” Jessica Reeder laid out a compelling argument that remote-first organizations with robust documentation have a head start because they've already solved the fundamental "garbage in, garbage out" problem. She said, "Knowledge management is a boring solution, but it’s something that will truly make a difference."

Top 5 takeaways that I'm still thinking about:
1. Connection is a function of design. From structured check-ins to async bonding and team rituals, remote culture is strongest when we build space for real connection—on purpose.
2. Knowledge management is powerful. Effective documentation isn't just admin - it's strategy that scales efficiency, trust, and time.
3. AI is evolving—are your systems ready? Digital twins, bots, and automation are reshaping work. The real opportunity is in pairing them with clarity and trust.
4. Performance cultivation > performance management. Measure what matters most - outcomes. High-performing teams are built through shared goals, clarity, and systems that respect both people and resources.
5. The best part? The People. Connecting with thoughtful, future-focused professionals who care deeply about doing remote work well was energizing and affirming.

Earlier this week, WeWork Chief Design Officer Ebbie Wisecarver spoke on a panel at Running Remote—the fastest growing conference on flexible work.
During a discussion with executives from Zoom and Twilio, she emphasized that the most impactful workplaces are those that aren’t just well designed, but also intentionally activated. This means spaces that foster an experience that draws people in and facilitates productivity, collaboration and employee engagement.

Just wrapped up Running Remote — a conference where I met some of the brilliant humans I previously only knew as pixels on a screen (cc Sarah McLamb, Kasia Triantafelo, Meaghan Williams to name a few!)
The sessions were refreshingly actionable: Data driven research with clear takeaways (cc Prithwiraj Choudhury, Nick Bloom), honest use cases of what’s actually working (and not working) in the world of distributed work, AI, and experimentation (cc Karine MATHIEU, PMP®, Bretton Putter, Alina Jesien and “JJ” Jessica Reeder). I've got many pages of insights to process but a main takeaway: Organizations that prioritize digital-first, distributed teams are better equipped to handle AI transformations and build the Future of Work.
Instead of performative lectures, I got a collective peek under the hood of how others are iterating the future of work, transparent conversations with colleagues and tactical insights from experts. Can't wait to return to this one next year!

My heart and mind are still buzzing from my time at Running Remote. I'm grateful for this community sharing new ideas and iterative approaches to building world-class operational/cultural infrastructure for distributed teams.
The conversations that left the biggest imprint were those about life. The health challenges at home, the grieving behind the shiny presentation deck, the celebration of being on the positive side of a diagnosis.
Keep pushing for robust documentation. Keep pushing for project management tools to organize work. Keep pushing for workplace systems that improve the flow of communication.
But most of all, keep pushing for margin. That's where innovation is found. That's where the world's healthiest organizations put down roots.

Had a great time representing Triple-A at Running Remote in Austin. The event brought together brilliant speakers covering everything from AI automation to employee engagement.
My key takeaway for payments: global remote workers are still underserved when it comes to payroll. Many leaders I spoke with want to pay contractors and employees in stablecoins, but lack a compliant, plug-and-play solution. That gap limits hiring or forces companies to build payroll capabilities in-house.
That’s where providers like Triple-A come in, handling the back end so remote-first companies can focus on hiring the best talent, wherever they are.
Already looking forward to next year!

Just landed back in Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 yesterday after an incredible week in Austin for Running Remote. Here are a few highlights, and a testament to the beauty of this virtual world we live and work in.
While the conference takeaways were powerful (more on those below), what stood out was the magic of in-person connection after years of virtual collaboration and friendships.
Connection Highlights:
✨ Meeting up with Mitchell Cohen (who helped with the launch of my first local/foreigner connection event in Buenos Aires 2 yrs ago), and connecting IRL with Jordan Carroll, who had virtually introduced us back then. Full circle moment: the three of us finally meeting in person for cold plunges, sauna, and great conversations in Austin.
✨ Finally meeting Paige Goldstein at a fun local Austin café after years of virtual connection, sharing about our global lifestyles, growth abroad, and shared passions. It felt like we’d known each other forever. 💓
✨ Connecting with Minwoo (Chris) Nam of Insured Nomads IRL after years of virtual collaboration, and a fun feature on their podcast while I was living in Rio 🇧🇷.
Running Remote Highlights:
💡 More awesome virtual-to-IRL connections, including people I’ve followed and respected their work in the remote space for years, like Chase Warrington!
🎤 Engaging talks, panels, and conversations with folks from all over, learning more about the evolving landscape of remote and hybrid work.
🧠 Inspiring conversations by HR leaders that reminded me of my own time in HR, and my long-standing passion for improving employee happiness and engagement. Now, I get to support clients in finding happiness and fulfillment in the roles and the work environments they choose. So cool to see this evolution.
A theme that stood out: the power of connection and intentionality.
Two things I also advocate for as a coach. Both are possible in the remote space, but they don’t happen by accident. It was refreshing to hear leaders share how they’re intentionally fostering both through in-person retreats, virtual connection practices, and cross-cultural strategies.
And another big theme: flexible work is here to stay. It’s continuing to evolve, but what stands out to me is the beauty of choice, employees having the ability to select the work model that best supports their fulfillment and happiness, whether that’s remote, hybrid, or in-office.
Big thanks to the Running Remote team for a great first conference experience in Austin! Loved the community feel at this event!
➕ Added Bonus:
After the conference, I took a few days offline to be fully present with my sisters (who flew in!) and to spend time with our cousin who lives in Austin. So special, especially living across the globe from most of my loved ones.

Returned last week from Running Remote 2025 and feeling energized. It was so good to be in person with people who care deeply about flexibility, digital-first practices, and building thoughtful cultures in distributed environments.
A few themes that are sticking with me:
💡Remote work isn’t going anywhere. The data backs it up, and smart companies are investing in it intentionally.
📍Offices aren’t destinations - they’re tools. When used strategically, they can create meaningful moments of connection and alignment. Seeing Atlassian's approach first-hand at their office was especially inspiring.
🤝In-person gatherings matter, but they take real operational work to do well. It’s not just about how often we meet, but how well we design those moments.
📚AI came up in nearly every conversation. No one has it fully figured out, but a culture of documentation puts companies ahead.
🎯 And the reminder I shared in my lightning talk: the best way to engage employees is by supporting the managers who lead them - remove friction and engagement will follow.

My last post said Sightly was REMOTE - and I learned something new - so I need to update how I speak about it. 🤔
🎓 What I learned at the Running Remote conference, and from Perplexity, is that “remote” describes an individual and “distributed” describes the company. A company is distributed if there is no “central office”.
So, we are a distributed company with remote employees. 🫶
‼️ ‼️ Where this gets REALLY exciting is when you talk about being distributed and it includes your AI agents and AI tools. Howard Lerman from Roam spoke about this on stage at RR and connected the dots for me: the future of work incorporates AI agents, and being distributed already puts us ahead of the game - especially if we continue to move fast with incorporating AI into our practices - Let’s GO!! 🤖
🤍 This remote/distributed focused community is so welcoming and I am happy to be a part of it! My head is still swirling with ideas from this year's Running Remote in Austin, y'all!
I had the absolute pleasure of moderating two panels with some of the most thoughtful, creative leaders:
📣 Crystal O'Neill and Travis McAshan lead B-Corp certified organizations, but our discussion was about so much more than the certification process; it was about purpose, transparency and human-centric leadership, the responsibility of organizations through a polycrisis, and how to codify your values and reinforce them every day.
📣 Chris Patrick, Sarah Walker and Vinícius Coelho — I think I speak for the entire audience when I say that I’m so grateful for your promising practices, tool recommendations and philosophical approaches to work, from AI bots and AI coach ride alongs to channel-first communication and remaining "people-centric but business first."
I captured some insights in today’s Charter Pro digest, too, including:
👉 Nick Bloom predicts WFH levels will remain stable during a recession, with most companies maintaining remote policies for cost efficiency. Looking ahead 5-10 years, he sees remote work increasing as technology improves, assuring a packed room: "Work from home is very much here to stay."
👉 "Bots will separate human capital from the human," noted bestselling author Prithwiraj Choudhury, enabling an unprecedented scaling of human capital. He also shared a fascinating project he worked on with Zapier CEO Wade Foster where they created a personal bot for Wade trained to impersonate him in content and style, and asked employees to guess if Wade’s answers came from Wade or his bot, which they correctly guessed 59% of the time. However, if an employee thought the answer came from a bot, they thought it was less helpful, which scholars call “algorithm aversion.”
👉 Digital-first knowledge management gives companies a competitive advantage in AI implementation. “JJ” Jessica Reeder laid out a compelling argument that remote-first organizations with robust documentation have a head start because they've already solved the fundamental "garbage in, garbage out" problem. She said, "Knowledge management is a boring solution, but it’s something that will truly make a difference."

Our first-ever conference.
And one of our most meaningful moments yet.
Running Remote 2025 wasn’t just an event—it felt like stepping into a room full of people we built Grapevine for.
We created this platform for remote and distributed teams navigating scattered tools, lost updates, and disconnected workflows.
And this week, we saw those exact people light up when they saw what Grapevine could do.
Here’s what we experienced:
✅ Drove real brand awareness
✅ Collected powerful customer feedback
✅ Made meaningful connections—with future partners, advocates, and maybe even lifelong friends
✅ Got more booth engagement than a certain competitor (cough cough z👀)
✅ And captured it all on video—coming soon 🎥
But what we’ll remember most?
Hearing “I found my people”
—because we felt the same way.
Grapevine didn’t just show up—we showed what’s possible when you build for the right people, at the right time.

I’m still on a high from my awesome experience at this year’s Running Remote conference in Austin, Texas! 🤩 It was inspiring to meet so many amazing people who are leading the way in building and advocating for strong, flexible remote workplace cultures - like the one we’ve built at XWP 💙
A few of my favourite moments from this week:
📍Touring Atlassian’s new Austin office building with Mark Cruth to learn how they’ve optimized their workspaces for intentional gatherings
📖 In depth discussions with author Bretton Putter about how to leverage AI in hybrid and remote work environments (go check out his books on culture!)
🥰 Meeting my newest open-source bestie, Daphnée Laforest, and geeking out about all things WordPress and the advantages of an asynchronous culture
🌴Exploring ideas and locations for in-person meetups with Matt Young from Nomadic6 events
🌮 Some of the best tacos and barbecue I’ve ever tasted 😋 I’m still salivating over Terry Black's Barbecue
👑 Sharing hugs and a few laughs with the RR community queen herself, Kasia Triantafelo
This conference reinforced for me how remote work can make such a positive impact in people’s lives - and why I’m so privileged to be working in People and Culture 😊
I can’t recommend this event enough! I’m already looking forward to returning to Austin for the next Running Remote 🙌

This week I had the pleasure of attending Running Remote 2025 - right here in Austin (!) - and left with a head full of ideas and a heart full of purpose...
Top 5 takeaways that I'm still thinking about:
1. Connection is a function of design. From structured check-ins to async bonding and team rituals, remote culture is strongest when we build space for real connection—on purpose.
2. Knowledge management is powerful. Effective documentation isn't just admin - it's strategy that scales efficiency, trust, and time.
3. AI is evolving—are your systems ready? Digital twins, bots, and automation are reshaping work. The real opportunity is in pairing them with clarity and trust.
4. Performance cultivation > performance management. Measure what matters most - outcomes. High-performing teams are built through shared goals, clarity, and systems that respect both people and resources.
5. The best part? The People. Connecting with thoughtful, future-focused professionals who care deeply about doing remote work well was energizing and affirming.

Just wrapped an incredible few days at Running Remote—what an energizing experience! Huge kudos to the organizers for creating such a thoughtful, welcoming, and high-caliber event. 🙌
It was an honor (and a little nerve-wracking!) to take the stage and share some lessons from our journey at Ergeon on integrating AI across teams. The real highlight, though, was getting to connect with so many people building the future of work, curious and pushing boundaries in all the right ways.
There was so much great conversation around the why behind AI in the workplace—why it matters, why it’s urgent, and why it’s changing the game. I’m excited to see even more voices (and sessions!) digging into the how in the months ahead. If my talk added a small piece to that puzzle, I’m grateful.
