I struggled to break into saas sales when I started out. I was a law school runaway. I studied history/political science and not business/marketing... Despite having a great "resume", I couldn't get a job in saas because I lacked experience... And my lack of experience was for an SDR role... 🤯 SDR roles I never got opportunities to even interview for. I was turned down based on my resume w/o even talking to a recruiter 😮 But I'm not the only person who knows this challenge. My experience early on is like many others today. The journey on finding my SDR opportunity has been filled with ups and downs. It’s literally been an emotional roller coaster!😭🎢 Although there have been some setbacks, I refuse to give up. Every Sunday night, I’ve been reading Part 1 of How to Break into SaaS Sales and Win: A 6 Part Playbook by SaaSBros. I read that part to remind myself WHY I gotta break into SaaS. WHY I can’t give up. So what’s my WHY?🤔 My 17 year old son is my WHY. I was just 19 years old when I had him. Being a single parent has been very challenging, but it’s also my greatest accomplishment. Due to his academic achievements, my son is entering Senior year as a member of The National Society of High School Scholars. I broke into tech with no experience. I used to be a limo driver and a valet attendant where I learned the art of parking cars backwards. Everyone has transferable skills and the biggest one that helped me from that last role... Instead of asking - "You need any directions?" Gave more value - "Would you happen to like tacos? There is this secret must try place if you do" When I 1st connected with Erik McKee while he was an AE - they were hiring. He challenged me to explain my WHY!
