Today I received the SDR champion belt for top quarterly attainment and then went bowling and received “worst bowler” award.

Sales Dojo is awesome.
One week ago, my wife, Clara and I had our last day in our Sales Dojo cohort. It was an incredible learning experience. Here are the 3 most impactful results from my experience:
1. An “extreme ownership” driven worldview with confidence that I’m responsible for my professional performance
2. An awesome framework for handling objections in a way that creates better opportunities for understanding
3. A set of actionable tools I can use to improve vocal tone and pacing on the phone in an authentic way
And just because it was so valuable, 3 bonus honorable mentions:
1. The mindset to always be curious!
2. A focus on “selling the test drive, not the car”
3. Making gratitude a priority for happiness in my career
Shoutouts to James Amezcua, Jaron A. Erickson, Ashdon Fackrell, Marian Labez and the rest of the team for crafting such a valuable educational experience. And major shoutout to Clara for being my sole inspiration along the way and my favorite success story from the company as she’s now crushing it in a new role at Zeni!

Finishing the Sales Dojo Account Executive course has reminded me just how much my experience as a D1 sprinter prepared me for this kind of work.
In track, I didn’t always feel like showing up. Morning weights, hard workouts, and races where I fell short were all part of the process. But I stayed consistent. I had a goal, and I knew the only way to reach it was to put in the work.
Sales Dojo taught me that sales is the same! Here are some of my takeaways from the course:
Top performers don’t only prospect when they feel like it. They prospect because they know consistency pays off.
Handling objections is like pushing through the last reps of a hard workout. You lean into the discomfort instead of backing away from it.
Sales Dojo taught me that success in sales comes from consistency, being process-oriented, and showing up ready to do the work every single day.
Just like athletes.
Huge thanks to Jaron A. Erickson and Ian Oldroyd for helping me along this journey. They are amazing mentors and great people! 🙌

The tech sales market is brutal right now—there’s no sugarcoating it.
I’m currently in the thick of the job hunt, and I know how exhausting the "apply, interview, repeat" cycle can be. But if there is one thing that’s keeping me confident, it’s the foundation I built at Sales Dojo.
Even though I’m still searching for my "perfect fit" SDR role, I genuinely loved the course. It turned "sales" from a scary concept into a repeatable process. I’ve learned:
• How to handle cold call objections without freezing up.
• The framework for a discovery call that actually adds value.
• How to navigate a competitive interview landscape.
I’m excited to announce that I’m officially a Sales Dojo Ambassador. ⛩️
I’m putting my name behind this because I believe in the training, the community, and the process—even when the market is tough. If you’re looking to build a real skill set while you navigate your own career change, you need to check them out.

Week 1 ✅
Wrapped up my first week in the Sales Dojo program over the weekend, and it’s already been a game changer.
Learning a ton about sales mindset, building the foundation and sharpening how I think moving forward.
Quick shout out to my alumni mentor, Darion Smith for being an awesome resource. And to Brendan Sundrud for inspiring me to take the plunge.
I’m proud of the growth so far, and even more excited to carry this momentum into Week 2.
Let’s go!! 💪🔥

These 2 studs have a lot of things in common:
•Extremely coachable
•Know what they want
•Willing to put in EXTREME amounts of work to get what they want
•Killers
•And most importantly (but not all), have proof of all the work they put in (shoutout Sales Dojo for giving them the platform)
I could go on and on about Cannon Bennett & Joshua Handy.
Knowing them personally, they’re all around great dudes.
But I won’t.
All I’ll say is that I look forward to watching what these guys do in their roles.
Zeni & Pearl AI could not have found BETTER SDRs for their teams. These guys are the next best SDRs.
Reach out to me if you are a killer like them and want some help breaking into tech!

Not only does November mark my one-year anniversary with Instructure, but it’s also the month I officially earned my promotion to Outbound K12 SDR! Time really does fly. Excited to keep growing, learning, and making more sales for years to come!

A few weeks ago marked three years at Forecastr.
When I joined, my goal was simple: see it through.
I’d built and abandoned too many things before.
At 16, I started my first business with my best friend.
We threw high school dance parties.
It was scrappy but thrilling - handwritten budgets on napkins, counting heads at the door, offering $5 discounts to anyone who shared our events online.
One night, over five thousand kids showed up.
Some events cleared $25,000 in profit.
Not bad for a couple of youngins.
That was the spark - I fell in love with business.
But when my friend left on a mission, I left too.
I walked away from the first thing I’d ever built.
At 18 I bought a one-way ticket to New York City - well, technically Newark, just across the river.
I apprenticed at an incubator, learned fast, and through my own choices, fell into bad habits just as quickly.
When things got tough, I left that too.
Then came the Airbnb business - I was the boots on the ground operator for 20+ apartments scattered across Manhattan.
On paper, I was finally getting everything I wanted.
But I didn't like who I was becoming.
So one day, I packed my bags and went home to Utah.
Another thing I’d built - left behind.
Back home, it hit me: I had a pattern.
I built things, then walked away before I could see them through.
Each exit left a residue of failure.
Naval Ravikant once said that when you climb a mountain, you often find there’s a higher one beyond it - and to reach it, you have to walk back down the very path you came from while others point and say, “I knew you couldn’t do it.”
That’s exactly how it felt.
For a while, I worked manual labor jobs - quiet years that forced reflection.
I went from 80% mind and 20% body to the opposite.
But the pull of startups never left.
I loved the idea of seeing things go from nothing to something.
Breaking into tech wasn’t easy.
No degree. Just a resume full of stories, not titles.
Then I found Sales Dojo.
They took me in, taught me the ropes of being an SDR, and through them, Forecastr took a chance on me.
When I got the offer, I made a quiet promise to myself: see it through. Three years later, I’ve kept that promise.
A little over a year ago, I transitioned into Revenue Operations - work that challenges me daily. I still have moments of imposter syndrome, but they’re balanced by gratitude for how far I’ve come.
I’ve never spent more than three years on any project before this one.
That realization hit me recently.
For once, I didn’t leave.
I stayed.
I learned.
I grew.
I have vested stock options now - a small symbol of something much larger:
Proof that I can commit. That I can evolve without abandoning myself or the people around me.
Today, I live in Puerto Rico, working remotely on systems that help Forecastr grow. I wake up to the sound of the ocean and log in to work that genuinely lights me up.
I’ve got a long way to go, but I plan to continue doing what I couldn’t before:

I’m also grateful to Jaron A. Erickson, Scotty Ogan 🗽, and Marian Labez at Sales Dojo for helping me build the skills that made this next step possible.

I owe a lot of my success in my journey (so far) to Sales Dojo. They absolutely prepared me for my role at Kenect, and the community helped build me into my current role as a Founding AE at Repact. I'm excited to help these next batch of students the same way others helped me! Couldn't be any happier to have the Sales Dojo brand attached to me! 💯 ⛩️ #salesdojo #techsales #mentorship

Coming from a 0 sales background, sales dojo was amazing! If you’re looking to break into tech sales, sales dojo is a n amazing option. The whole team are amazing- Marian, the instructors (mine was Scotty - A great teacher), and Jaron were all so awesome. Willing to stay late and answer any questions you may have, reach out to connections to help you out, and just willing to go above and beyond as long as you’re willing to put in the work. If you’re willing to try and learn, this is the place to be! My favorite thing is that they created a safe place to fail (F.A.I.L - First Attempt In Learning) with a background like mine and probably yours too (otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this with no sales) Sales Dojo is the best option.

Even with 12+ years of sales experience, I knew there were some key differences in how SaaS sales works, especially around discovery, pipeline management, and navigating longer sales cycles. Sales Dojo helped fill in those gaps. The program gave me a clearer framework for running great calls, handling objections in a more consultative way, and aligning with how SaaS buyers actually make decisions. It was exactly what I needed to transition my existing skills into a new sales environment.

I can’t recommend Sales Dojo enough. This course completely exceeded my expectations. From day one, I felt supported, challenged, and genuinely excited to learn. The instructors were incredible—engaging, experienced, and truly invested in our success.
I walked away with a ton of valuable, real-world knowledge that I can actually apply. It’s not just theory—this course prepares you for the field, especially in outbound sales and SDR roles.
If you’re considering Sales Dojo, don’t hesitate. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career growth!
