I have taken multiple in-person WFA courses over the past 10 years. I have to say that even though this was online, it was the most intensive WFA course I have ever taken. Instead of being in a big room with 50+ people where I received virtually no individual attention or assessment, this course forced me to study carefully and take multiple multiple choice tests and submit a demonstration video and several photos. This is by far the most rigorous WFA I have ever taken. I learned more in this one class than all prior classes combined.

I highly recommend this course to medical military service members who have been crossed trained as combat medics. After leaving the military the skills gained through cross training are not recognized in the civilian sector. Wilderness first aid becomes a valuable certification to support your military training and transitions into the civilian sector. It is a good refresher.

The online course was full of great information and was better than several in person first aid classes I have taken. The online course format was easy to follow and I felt the testing was difficult enough and I liked the feedback on the wrong answers. One critique I have is I think it should of covered gunshot wounds more especially to the chest. There are a lot of hunters out here that could really use this information. The online course was full of great information and was better than several in person first aid classes I have taken. The online course format was easy to follow and I felt the testing was difficult enough and I liked the feedback on the wrong answers. One critique I have is I think it should of covered gunshot wounds more especially to the chest. There are a lot of hunters out here that could really use this information. Other than that I recommend it.

At times the line between the lessons and the questions wasn't always clear but it encourages students to make a leap and interpret the material rather than parrot answers. I've wanted to get the WFR for a long time but didn't think I coudl practically make it fit, and the positive experience of this class makes me reconsider. Great experience all around.

I was really grateful to find this course, as I'm living abroad and had difficulty finding a course locally. It was everything I needed, and I'm extremely grateful for the additional seminars I have access to. Demonstrations were excellent, and the review tools were helpful to solidify all the concepts. I think this is truly a FANTASTIC course! It is taught by very experienced and skilled professionals, but I could also tell that they value and care about nature as well. I liked how they showed in many scenarios how to use high tech first aid equipment as well as common items that you would have with you to improvise and administer first aid.
I think this course is A MUST for all campers, hikers, river sport enthusiasts as well as outdoor leaders and those who wish to seek further understanding of basic level wilderness survival and first aid.

The course is very educational, helpful, and necessary when going out into the wilderness. The only thing I will say is that I wish you could filter out the stuff you don't need to learn. For example, I need my WFA certification because I am taking a group of kids on a canoe trip this summer. Learning about Bears or getting lost in the wilderness is very important in that setting, but I don't feel that learning about elevation sickness is necessary in my case. Maybe in your case, you need to have this course on everything to become a certified WFA distributor, and I get that. On the other hand, if you are able to make this change, I would definitely recommend it. Thank You!

I was worried that the format would be too passive, but the required knowledge checks, quizzes, photos, and video submissions solidified my understanding of concepts. The course material was great and thorough. It would have been helpful to have a general time stamp for some of the modules. I was unsure if the course would take 1 hour or 8 hours. Some of the shorter videos with questions would glitch and skip pausing for some of the buttons. I got stuck on some modules because this technical error would prevent me from clicking to the next screen. Eventually I figured it out and was better able to use the software but it did take 20+ minutes.

I really liked the class and learned (or should re-learned) valuable skills for in backcountry. I really liked the videos....very much to the point. I admit that in person classes you can ask questions, but sometimes those questions lead off topic. This was very focused and to the point. The step by step demonstrations were very thorough. Excellent class. I would highly recommend to anyone and especially re-cert people.
