Fantastic online lesson format, great presentation and explanation of concepts. At times the line between the lessons and the questions wasn't always clear but it encourages students to make a leap and interpret the material rather than parrot answers. I've wanted to get the WFR for a long time but didn't think I coudl practically make it fit, and the positive experience of this class makes me reconsider. Great experience all around.

it is really in-depth and I love being able to pause the videos and lectures so I can write my notes then continue at my leisure. This also helps if I need to step away for a few minutes.

I was really grateful to find this course, as I'm living abroad and had difficulty finding a course locally. It was everything I needed, and I'm extremely grateful for the additional seminars I have access to. Demonstrations were excellent, and the review tools were helpful to solidify all the concepts. Great course. The online version requires every student to fully interact with each item and Q&A. My schedule didn't allow me to attend an in-person class as I've done in the past, but I got more out of this one.

I think this is truly a FANTASTIC course! It is taught by very experienced and skilled professionals, but I could also tell that they value and care about nature as well. I liked how they showed in many scenarios how to use high tech first aid equipment as well as common items that you would have with you to improvise and administer first aid. I think this course is A MUST for all campers, hikers, river sport enthusiasts as well as outdoor leaders and those who wish to seek further understanding of basic level wilderness survival and first aid.

The course is very educational, helpful, and necessary when going out into the wilderness. The only thing I will say is that I wish you could filter out the stuff you don't need to learn. For example, I need my WFA certification because I am taking a group of kids on a canoe trip this summer. Learning about Bears or getting lost in the wilderness is very important in that setting, but I don't feel that learning about elevation sickness is necessary in my case. Maybe in your case, you need to have this course on everything to become a certified WFA distributor, and I get that. On the other hand, if you are able to make this change, I would definitely recommend it. Thank You!

It was great. I am so glad that I took this course. I travel in the back country a lot solo and with family. I feel much more confident in my ability to provide life saving first aid and to make life saving decisions now.

This class was very helpful and well organized. I think the scenarios were great and more would be beneficial. The text at the bottom of each quiz question to advance was sometimes hard to see.

This class is excellent. Very thorough! I have taken in-person WFR and WFA and this class is very comparable. The instructor was very easy to understand and used great examples to illustrate the points. I would highly recommend.

The self-paced nature of this was a wonderful opportunity. I live in a geographically remote area where attending an in-person class is not really an option. The different sections were manageable amounts of time that were easy to fit into my schedule.

I was worried that the format would be too passive, but the required knowledge checks, quizzes, photos, and video submissions solidified my understanding of concepts. Having to demonstrate the skills was key. I feel very confident that this course prepared me for a lot of different possibilities in the wild.

So far the course has been very educational. The stories/examples are engaging and the written quiz portions are challenging and require critical thinking so I've enjoyed those.

The course material was great and thorough. It would have been helpful to have a general time stamp for some of the modules. I was unsure if the course would take 1 hour or 8 hours. Some of the shorter videos with questions would glitch and skip pausing for some of the buttons. I got stuck on some modules because this technical error would prevent me from clicking to the next screen. Eventually I figured it out and was better able to use the software but it did take 20+ minutes. I thought the instructor was engaging and thorough. Lots of useful information, photos and scenarios.

I really liked the class and learned (or should re-learned) valuable skills for in backcountry. I really liked the videos....very much to the point. I admit that in person classes you can ask questions, but sometimes those questions lead off topic. This was very focused and to the point. The step by step demonstrations were very thorough. Excellent class. I would highly recommend to anyone and especially re-cert people.

It went very well. I feel as though I learned a lot and that my knowledge was tested and held true. I am going to be taking the in person portion tomorrow and I feel prepared and excited to go.

I like the medical scenarios that have been after each grouping of information and also the knowledge checks.

I've taken WFA before several times in person, and I dreaded going back to the full two day course. This format has been great for someone who has taken the course before and needs a refresher, and who needs the flexibility of time. I also found that I'm retaining information better by covering the information is small chunks. The two day course goes by in a blur, and I've found learning the material in small 20-40 minute chunks more effective for me. The instructor was dynamic, engaging, succinct, and practical. The scenario videos with review/exam questions helped solidify knowledge learned and offered practice application. I found SOAP note practice particularly helpful in thinking through all of the information gleaned in a medical situation.

This course helped me understand what to do in most survival situations. I learned a whole lot for sure. Things I thought I knew completely changed after this course now I feel ready to get out there with the proper knowledge to help anyone with their situations

That’s great! The course content was rich and practical, and the scenario exercises were very helpful in understanding and applying what we learned. It also corrected many inaccuracies that are commonly spread online. It is such a useful skill set, especially for situations in remote areas.

I appreciated the detailed feedback in the module submissions. When taking the exam, I had trouble with my first submission and it marked all of my answers wrong on all questions. I believe his might have been due to me having the screen on my browser zoom increased and the radio buttons were not marking the selections I made.

The only thing I had issue with was a couple of the recording have back ground noise or something happened to the recording where it made it quite hard to hear what she was saying and i had to listen several times to understand what she said.

I like the course and the delivery mechanism, especially for this level of certification. I noticed I may have assumed some facts not inevidence for the scenarios, which is my fault, but the feedback provided in the responses was informative. For example, when answering the question on rabies, I mad ethe asusmption, incorrectly ;-), that I was looking for any animal that might carry rabies, regardless of most likely, and that we would typically observe some symptoms in larger mamals, like dogs, as part of the scenario. Overall very satisfied with the course and wil probably be pursuing the WFR at a later date as this course was required for an upcoming NASAR certification.

I enjoy the course and the way the materials are shared. Some of the questions do not align with the info in the videos. This could be because in a real life situation you have to think quick and fast.

The course videos were thorough and I enjoyed the class. My only mark against the class is that I would have liked to be able to print written material for everything. It seems like there wasn't a pdf for the common medical problems. I would have liked to print and had these on hand.

I just wanted to say that I learned a lot in this course. Some things I thought I knew the correct answer to I didn’t. I liked the self-paced approach and making the videos. The course was very comprehensive and covered more than I expected, which was great! There are a couple of questions I got wrong on the final exam, but the feedback wasn’t very clear on what the correct answer should be. Perhaps you can look at that and improve the feedback. A few of the videos had audio what was a bit compromised and harder to understand due to being recorded outdoors. I would suggest reshooting those segments either indoors or with a lavalier mic. A few typos in the written material. Might be worth reading through everything again to catch those. Overall, I enjoyed this course, learners a lot, and plan to return to various modules in the future to refresh my understanding.

This is so great! As a life long Montanan and backcountry hiker, I've always wanted to learn more safety skills. I'm not doing sustainability nature retreats for change~makers and this is a great way to get started on better safety in the wilderness. It inspires me to take in person courses sooner than later too :)
