Your SaaS growth shouldn’t be stalling - and this ONE book can fix it. 5 months ago “Software as a Science” was released - and it blew my mind. 🤯 This is THE playbook for ▫️Mid-stage ▫️B2B SaaS companies ▫️Slowing down in their growth It addressed a lot of the challenges I’ve seen SaaS companies struggle with first hand! Key concept: Scaling isn’t magic. It’s math. And there are only three levers to pull: 🔸Get more customers (Acquisition) 🔸Keep them longer (Retention) 🔸Increase their value (Expansion) It’s packed with proven frameworks, formulas, and metrics. Super actionable. No fluff. 📌The authors; Dan Martell Matt Verlaque Johnny Page and Marcel Petitpas - have decades of experience and it shows. If you’re in B2B SaaS, I highly recommend it. 🤔Who else has read it? Or struggling with this right now? Any other SaaS marketing books you’d recommend?

What I’m holding in my hand is, without question, THE BEST business book I’ve ever read. And that’s saying something—because I’ve read 161 business books (yes, I catalog them…nerd alert). If you own a SaaS company, this is a must-read. When I read Dan’s first book, Buy Back Your Time, I was blown away by the tactical, actionable insights it provided. I implemented them immediately in my business and my life, and they’ve made a lasting impact. But this new book? It takes actionable takeaways to a whole new level. If you're serious about learning, growing, and scaling, this book is a no-brainer. It’s so good that I’ve already read it twice—and I will without a doubt keep it on my desk to reference for years to come. Well done Dan Martell Matt Verlaque Johnny Page Marcel Petitpas Truly remarkable.

Partnered with onboarding to sequence first value conversation as an extension of the closed workflows, scheduling links in welcome emails etc. So even for SaaS Academy students this book is a game changer.

I'm only through the second chapter and have so many notes... Reading "Software as a Science"- The starting framework of the hourglass of Acquisition, Retention, and Expansion. I was able to calculate my growth ceiling, (how long before new customers equal the number who leave), and make a decision to focus on Marketing/acquisition because of solid numbers... not just a gut feeling. For defend-id it's a matter of getting new customers, our churn is essentially zero and expansion is coming. I think my lesson here is that every lever matters but timing is key and know which one to pull and when is critical.
Marcos Butler
I’ve implemented a few of the strategies from Software as a Science, and the results have been amazing. The insights on customer activation and turning users into raving fans have completely transformed our retention efforts.

This is one of those books. (And if you're in the SaaS space you should definitely check out this book, Software as a Science by Dan Martell, Matt Verlaque, Johnny Page, and Marcel Petitpas.)

Most SaaS founders are obsessed with acquiring new customers. Yet, while customer acquisition often takes the spotlight, 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗦 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲. I recently finished reading a game-changing book, called: S͟o͟f͟t͟w͟a͟r͟e͟ ͟a͟s͟ ͟a͟ ͟S͟c͟i͟e͟n͟c͟e͟ published by the SaaS Academy. The book dives deep into uncovering the invisible “𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴” that stalls your business, and shows how to shatter it with a retention-first approach. According to the authors: 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀.

I've been looking forward to this book for a little while, but definitely didn't expect this awesome surprise while reading it. For certain books, I double up on Audible AND a printed copy. The different mediums equip me in different ways to better consume, process, and benefit from what I read. And with some books, I know they were written to drive readers to action. This is one of those books. (And if you're in the SaaS space you should definitely check out this book, Software as a Science by Dan Martell, Matt Verlaque, Johnny Page, and Marcel Petitpas.)

I've been looking forward to this book for a little while, but definitely didn't expect this awesome surprise while reading it. For certain books, I double up on Audible AND a printed copy. The different mediums equip me in different ways to better consume, process, and benefit from what I read. And with some books, I know they were written to drive readers to action. This is one of those books. (And if you're in the SaaS space you should definitely check out this book, Software as a Science by Dan Martell, Matt Verlaque, Johnny Page, and Marcel Petitpas.)

Understanding where your clients are at on the Customer Value Chain can be a massive unlock for getting social proof. Think about it this way: we all want referrals but don’t have a systematic way to ask for them or to get the right testimonials and case studies to get them. The Customer Value Chain gives you a blueprint to create that system. This is from the book: Software as a Science by Dan Martell Matt Verlaque Johnny Page Marcel Petitpas

It’s about maximizing their value: • Turning renewals into upsells. • Expanding use cases. • Creating advocates who sell for you. I couldn’t agree more. Retention is the silent driver of sustainable, scalable growth. 📚 Want to explore these insights yourself? Check out my new article to get a 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸!

If you own a SaaS company, this is a must-read. When I read Dan’s first book, Buy Back Your Time, I was blown away by the tactical, actionable insights it provided.
