After studying Spanish for years in school, I made a promise to myself that this would be my year to get to fluency; I attempted to get there on my own by watching YouTube videos and that's when I came across Nate's channel. Of all the videos I've watched, Nate's teaching style and his overall personality appealed to me and I signed up for his online Spanish Academy almost immediately after discovering him. Even though it's been less than a week, I can already see the benefits of being part of this community. Nate offers a very structured program and is very hands-on and involved. There are so many resources to help you accomplish your goals, including a conversational meet up in Spanish once a week, so you can practice speaking and getting comfortable with the language. I think of this as an investment in myself. Some people may balk at the idea of paying for Spanish classes but if some of us are honest with ourselves, we spend that same amount on an outfit on any day! So why not take that money and dump it into something that will give you a return on your investment, whether it's a new job where being bi-lingual is a requirement or travelling to a Spanish speaking country and being able to not only understand what the natives are saying but talking to them in their own language! One of the fastest ways to get to fluency if you're really serious about this journey, is having some skin in the game! Invest in yourself, it'll be worth it in the end!

I'm from California where Spanish is very common. I have been a student for about five months now and overall been learning Spanish for almost 2 years. Nate is a very informative, patient, and charismatic teacher. He is down to earth and easy to understand. I came across Nates program after purchasing base lang (which i still use on occasion) What I like most about Nates program is that its very structured. There is a grammar lesson section where Nate has videos explaining Spanish concepts. There is a listening section where he talks to you in Spanish. There are both Spanish and English transcripts and you can slow down or speed up the recording. Then there is a section of the program where there are prompts you answer to help with your speaking abilities. So you are learning by watching, listening, and speaking which is very helpful. What's also fun and helpful about the program is the community that you have access to. You get to interact with like minded friends who keep keep learning fun while also keeping you accountable. The best part is Nate is available through email to help you with anything. He is very approachable and cares about you and your learning. I'd definitely recommend the program to anyone looking to improve their Spanish learning!

I am an older woman with a life long desire to learn Spanish just for the love of the language and frequent travel to Spanish speaking countries. I'm Frank Goodman, from Portland. Big Spanish language fan, with high school and 3 semesters of college Spanish all many years ago, (I'm 73) and a cumulative 4 months of backpacking as a young hippie behind me. I Love Spanish with Nate. It's a positive community, but most of all it's a multi-faceted program where you can learn on your own time at your own rate-and I like how available and ubiquitous Nate himself is. I like how Mexican it is, especially! That is specifically what and where I'm interested in; I plan to do a Lot of traveling there in the next few years, ultimately to live there 4 months a year asap. I'm headed to Lake Chapala in a month, and then the Nayarit beaches two months after that. The Classroom, Listening, and all the great youtube videos have all helped me immensely, and I feel in the pocket for conversation. Nate also turned me on to Lingopie, which is a great supplement! Since joining Spanish with Nate, I have seen several benefits. I am improving my reading, writing and speaking skills. When composing my comments, I review them, make corrections and speak out loud. I look with anticipation for others to respond and I learn more vocabulary and phrases from their comments. I thought I would review some of the basic videos, not all, but then I decided to view all of them. Good thing, because the way Nate explains things helps to fill in the gaps in my learning. I feel Nate’s videos match my learning style. Anyway my goal is to do at least 2 or 3 comments a day and one of Nate’s videos. In just this short time I am feeling more confident to talk to other native Spanish speakers.

The best thing about Spanish with Nate is that he breaks everything down step by step, which makes learning Spanish feel achievable. He allows you to become confident in speaking and learning without feeling intimidated. The academy pushes you out your limit to communicate with others who are learning as well and provided great worksheets for practice. I’m learning spanish for a variety of reasons but one of them being to teach my daughter. After only a few days of learning from Nate’s program, my spanish vocabulary has expanded dramatically (you have to be faithful with the flashcards though!) and my pronunciation has improved. DO NOT try and learn Spanish grammar on your own. Save yourself time and use Nate! I literally used this for 1 month to go over the entirety of Spanish grammar, and Nate's lessons are super concise and great for clarifying all the the different tenses and when to use them.

I’ve been learning Spanish on my own for about seven months before joining Spanish with Nate. I really like Spanish with Nate because he gives you a daily practice routine to follow. This group and this community are a lot of fun, and in that kind of environment, learning isn't a chore! I work with people from Mexico and I like this Nate's program focuses a lot of Mexican Spanish which is extremely helpful to me. I am living with my daughter and family in Paraguay for a year. I can work at my own pace and schedule. I like the lesson videos and the worksheets that go along with them. The flashcards are really helpful for me, memorizing vocabulary is important for me. I am Mexican and always felt insecure about not being able to speak Spanish. I finally decided to drop making excuses and set a goal for myself to reach fluency. I have foundational Spanish knowledge from high school but didn’t take it seriously at the time. I began creating a study plan/routine and came across one of Nate’s YouTube videos. I felt inspired knowing that Nate is not a native speaker, yet with practice and dedication, was able to get to a level I never saw as possible for myself. I really felt like I was missing out! After many years of saying, “I wish I could” blah blah blah. I decided it was time to try! I was only learning for a couple months (Duolingo, mostly) before I found Nate. I can truly say that I learned more in the first week of watching Nate’s lessons and doing the homework than I did in months of doing it on my own! In the first week, I was able to learn how to roll my rr’s and have some basic conversations at the grocery store! Huge wins for me. Having a REAL LIFE knowledgeable teacher, a supportive engaging community, and tons of learning resources has made all the difference for me. The best thing about this academy is the community. There’s no reason to be embarrassed because we’re all learning. It gives you the confidence to make mistakes and realize this is how we get better. About a year into my journey, I felt pretty stuck with my progress…I sounded like Tarzan when I spoke Spanish, had limited vocabulary and felt nervous when trying to strike up conversations with Spanish speakers. I started learning Spanish with Nate about 1.5 years ago and it has really boosted my vocabulary, reading skills and conversational skills! I found Nate through his hilarious and informative YouTube videos. Honestly, I was jealous, this gringo speaks spanish like a native. I thought I could never! I'm just not good at language learning. Nonetheless, I signed up for one of his courses. He took me from having 0 Spanish knowledge or confidence to having conversations with native speakers in about a month. I've continued to build my spanish piece by piece through his online courses. Nate has successfully navigated the language learning process himself and he has unique perspective that even native speakers don't have. He learned spanish as a second language. This perspective allows him to connect with spanish learners and explain grammar and mental models of the language that are incredibly helpful. Nate is the man!

I have always loved the Spanish language and just like everyone else I tried a lot of different materials and sources. I came across teacher Nate on youtube. Not only is a super humble, talented and attentive teacher, he is also very easy going and funny. Then I decided I need to stick with one program only, instead of learning a little here and there which never brings good result. I gave Spanish with Nate a try and it was a brilliant decision. Nate's Academy is a great resource for building a strong foundation in the Spanish language. While this is great, what impressed me even more is the community and how Nate interacts with it. Nate is frequently asking the community "How can I improve things?" or "What would you like to see?" My name is Sheldon and I am working on improving my Spanish by filling in Knowledge gaps to help communicate with Spanish speakers at my job and also communicate better with my fiancé's family. I am revisiting my Spanish Language skills after some 40 years because I am motivated by my Mexican daughter-in-law, Sophia. I'm Trev, a middle aged Englishman, and I learned some Spanish many years ago because I was going on holiday to Gran Canaria on my own. I intended to rent a car when I got there to go exploring the island and thought it would be useful to speak some Spanish, in case I got into difficulty. What I learned turned out to be useful and I used my Spanish on subsequent holidays to mainland Spain and Mallorca.  At the beginning of 2024 I wanted to do something to stimulate my mind, to combat any degenerative brain disorders as I age and decided to pick up my Spanish learning again, after 20+ years.  I started off with a well known language teaching app and some books, but got to the stage where I was getting things wrong in the app, but it didn't explain why what I was doing was wrong, so I started searching YouTube and stumbled across Nate's channel.  I liked his down to earth and enthusiastic approach to Spanish and his easy going style of teaching the language, plus, he'd 'got the t-shirt' by learning Spanish to the extent that he's been able to move to Mexico and live there, which impressed me greatly.  I discovered that he had a separate Spanish learning platform with a community of fellow Spanish learners and decided to investigate further. I read the reviews and they were all very positive, so I decided to subscribe, and it was one of the best things I've ever done in my pursuit of learning Spanish.  Nate's group has an active and vibrant forum, and the sense of 'community' is fantastic. Everyone is very helpful and supportive, and the best thing is that Nate is very active on there, posting answers to questions and bits of information every day. He is always ready to reply to any questions and lend a hand when required. He is clearly passionate about helping his community of members achieve their goals, in a very patient, humble and friendly way.  The teaching videos and resources are exceptional too. Nate teaches the language in a very accessible, easy to understand way and the courses are structured so that each lesson builds on the last one in a methodical way.  I feel that my Spanish knowledge, comprehension and confidence has improved noticeably in all areas since I joined Nate's community.  I'm enjoying learning by working my way through the courses and using the resources available.
