This year, our Latinx ERG invited José Piñero from Latino Leadership Performance to lead a three-part seminar series focused on career development, and he’s already delivered two incredible sessions. His talks on “Building Your Personal Brand, Impact, and Influence” and “How to Increase Your Visibility and Impact in a Hybrid World” were packed with practical, valuable insights that really resonated with our members. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and there’s a lot of excitement for his upcoming session on “How to Manage Stress and Anxiety at Work,” which will kick off our Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. On a personal level, I also had the privilege of working with José in a one-on-one coaching session. He helped me rework my resume and LinkedIn profile in a way that aligned with my career goals, and more importantly, he gave me the confidence and clarity I needed to push past my imposter syndrome. That session was a turning point for me, and I’m grateful for his guidance and encouragement. I am a Mexican woman living and working in the US since 2013. I am a wife and a mother to 3 kids. After 17 years of working for a large sports US company, I found myself stuck in the organization and couldn't find a way to grow professionally. I worked with Jose for 3 months and now I am in a different company, with a job promotion. Jose and I had multiple calls over the 3-month period, once or twice a week sometimes. He asked the right questions so I could get to the bottom of why I do what I do and why I am great at my job. He pushed me to look for new opportunities inside and outside my organization, he coached me through the networking and interview process, he helped me negotiate for a job offer and he provided guidance on what things I should be considering when looking for a job. I work for Suntory Global Spirits, where I am a leader for the company's Hispanic/Latinx employee resource group in addition to my full-time marketing job. This Hispanic Heritage Month, we hosted Jose for a virtual seminar on Leading with your Latino Values. As leader of the Latino Employee Resource Group in Bridgestone, I invited Jose to give his "How to accelerate your career as a Latino/a" conference as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month activities. He is a great storyteller; all of his tips were spot on, and the feedback received from other members of the audience was that they felt "like he was talking directly to me". Even when his conference has a "Latino spin" to it, non-Latinos felt like the advice was applicable to anyone and at different levels of their professional journey. Definitely would continue working with him in the future.

I am a scientist who was looking to improve my resume, interview skills, my ability to set boundaries and ultimately my confidence. In coaching sessions, Jose gave me so many tools to use which I applied to improve my work situation. I was in an interview and I asked one of the questions Jose recommended asking. The interviewer answered it, then stopped and started raving about how great of a question it was. It was almost like it was a plant haha. Also, I ended up getting that job!
