Thank you for your help in getting Ginny started with The Max Letters. A side story is that she did not want to use The Max Letters for her reading log assignments at school because they were something she did for fun reading with me. Now for Ginny's note to you:

We purchased this for our nephew for Christmas, and it was the best gift ever! Not something useless that ends up in the corner in two weeks, but an ongoing adventure we can share as a family. Our nephew lives a few hours away, and signing up for the additional letters is a great way for us to be a part of the story. When we facetime, we can discuss what's going on in the story and what we think will happen next. Thanks Max Letters for your thoughtful way of addressing your letters and letting us be a part of the journey.

I bought these for my Granddaughter as a Christmas present. She got her box and first letter before Christmas which was fine. She started reading right away. She has been enjoying getting mail and the story is a bonus. Following along with the story has been fun for me too. I enjoy the adventure and look forward to getting another story for her this year, too.

My granddaughters are loving these stories (and secretly I think their parents do, too). This is a great and unique gift and so much better than anything electronic. I highly recommend The Max Letters.

We finished our first year and just reordered the second year. Fantastic story and artwork. My 8 year old granddaughter video chats her great grandfather every Wednesday and the Max letters are a big part of that time together. So that is four generations that get red letter day! If you ever have an issue the person who answers the phone is Robin, the authors daughter. I love that!

We have been getting the regular deliveries of the wonderful stories. My granddaughter is really enjoying getting the mail and reading the great adventures!

We bought the Max letters for our grandson, who is 8, as a Christmas present. He loves them and also loves getting mail so now he has something to look forward to. He keeps them all in the tin that we purchased. I would highly recommend Max Letters.

Our 9 year old grandson is enjoying the adventure of the Max Letters -more content for his imagination! He jumped right in developing character connections and outcome speculations. 

I love them! I got the Max Letters as a Christmas present and I love having them! I keep all of my pages in a little binder so I can read it like an actual book every time I get a new couple of chapters! Ten out of ten! Would recommend!

I really was skeptical at first. But I just could not resist. I would highly recommend this to anyone, whatever age, to get it. It was very entertaining, well written, and I love the adventure. Hope this was helpful.

I am so pleased with The Max Letters! The letters contain all of the wonders of the original books with more illustrations than a book could afford to use. The illustrations are key in a story for younger readers and listeners to help them envision the characters, actions, and world of the story. I wish that these letters had been available when I was teaching Kindergarten. This is just the type of story that people of all ages could appreciate. The emphasis on honor, and ethical thinking is not usually so directly addressed in fictional literature. I believe that it is very important to teach children critical thinking skills, however, it is extremely difficult to do so. The Max Letters show Max learning throughout the story how to evaluate his situation, and to decide how he should act. Max takes his audience with him on his journey. Each reader or listener is able to make their own determinations, along with Max, about what they would do and why. The "why" is the difficult part to teach. It is important that children (and older people, too) learn not just to make decisions, but to be able to articulate why their choice is the best one to make in the current situation. The story found in The Max Letters encourages the reader or listener to sort through the information that Max observes, to decide what is important and why it is important. Max often considers the words and actions of people that he encounters. He pointedly considers what each of his brothers and other characters would do and why. Max carefully weighs all of this information and makes his own decisions. This is something magical! Stories that touch us in this way, literally changing the way we walk through life are the ones that we love and remember forever. There are many books for young adults and adults that do just this, but the language and plot are usually not easily understood by a younger audience. This is the joy of The Max Letters! The language and story are written in a way that makes it readily understandable, and more importantly, exciting to the audience. If you can engage the enthusiasm of the reader or listener, you can get them to read. I value the critical thinking development more than the skills acquired for the mechanics of reading. The imagination and character of the reader and listener is what The Max Letters especially develop and refine. Stories like this make the world a better place, and that is amazing!
