We had Ashley join us for a guest lecture at our weekly Dalhousie Investment Society meeting, and what really stood out was how he made the whole job hunting process feel straightforward and approachable. We had Ashley come in to speak to our Global Equity Research Associates. He was engaging, informative, approachable and relevant. It was part of a Lunch and Learn series that we run to develop our associates. Ashley knows how to read the room and the associates found him relatable and knowledgeable. Ashley has direct experience doing the role of the group that he was speaking to so his credibility was high. Many of the associates followed up with him directly afterwards. Ashley's sessions for students working at Empire Life were amazing. He was able to interact with students, keep them engaged and give them valuable insights to help them kick start their careers. The biggest challenge I faced before completing the course was managing get job interviews and how to go about networking effectively. I feel after completing the course I have a really strong understanding of how to network better and navigate the job interview process as well as well as how to nail the actual interview itself. The actionable information on how to navigate recruiting as well as grow and use my network better to convert job interviews was incredibly helpful and has been very effective. I feel really really confident in my job search now and a lot of my confusion has gone away!

Prior to taking this course, I was a bit unsure about how to properly prepare for interviews—especially when it came to answering behavioral questions in a way that felt structured and impactful. After completing the course, I now have a much stronger framework for crafting logical, clear responses that highlight my skills and experiences.
