I am Natalie Southwell, the CEO and Owner of The Essence of a Woman, LLC, Leadership Development Consultant, where I help rehabilitate women who are unbalanced, overwhelmed, burned out create synergies and harmony in their careers, personal lives, communities, and beyond. I do this by rescuing them from unhealthy dependence on misguided validations and expectations. Creating a sense of autonomy, independence, and wellness in their decision making to trust their gut, intuitions, and whispers from God. What were you struggling with before the training? Finding the platform to speak on. Direction. How did our training help you or what did your really love (strategies, networking, etc...)? I loved how spiritually inviting it was. How Queen considers you a Queen and addresses you as loves. It's empowering. She blends the word with natural challenges we may be facing to help understand the root behind certain challenges or hindrances we may be experiencing. Through the word, she shines the light on learned behaviors and unchallenged beliefs.

Valerie was born and raised in Joliet, Ill, a thriving town outside Chicago. Valerie began her career in the corporate world as an expert in Business Administration, Training, Coaching / Mentoring, Account Management, Vendor Relations, Workforce Management, and Human Resources. Although she enjoyed success in business, her passion for writing kept calling her. She suffered trauma at the young age of 9 and found comfort in writing. This childhood trauma was the basis of her 2022 Hurston Wright Foundation’s Crossover Award Winning Memoir Blue Butterfly: Exploitations of Innocence. The judge of the 2022 Crossover Award, writer Ron Nixon described her submission as "a wonderfully written and moving story about childhood trauma. She also established NHerself Expressions (YouTube) in 2019 to focus on helping others heal from childhood trauma. An excerpt from her memoir was subsequently published in Text Power Telling Magazine. She found community at Lit Diaries, a book lounge and event space in Atlanta that curates literary and cultural events, where she serves as the Communications Coordinator. With so many stories to tell, Valerie has only just begun. My struggle is finding my tribe that allows growth, that pours into each other to build stronger communities of individuals who are healing and ready to thrive. I still believe the same and have made endearing connections today to help make it happen. The training showed me that I have the confidence to speak my truth, knowing that it will help others with their healing and thriving journey. The value I received was connecting with people with purpose.

I am a nursing student interested in a non-traditional nursing role which includes health coaching and public speaking. I came accross this workshop as the first action step towards learning something new that supports my interest. This was my first time attending and my first time listening to Coach Queen. I did not know where to start and yet, I cannot tell you how "right" it felt to attend this workshop. I was blown away by her energy, her guidance, inspired the other participant's goals and achievements. Coach Queen encouraged us to take clear action steps and to network with one another. I greatly appreciate information shared by a successful participant after the group patiently heard my unclear vision. I have decided to trust the process and focus on one step at a time. Because of Coach Queen and this participant I have two clear steps to move ahead on my vision. I look forward to the next meeting, thank you for providing this wonderful platform.
