Just had an excellent career coaching session with David Lee , and I can absolutely say I highly recommend it to any cyber freelancers or early-career cybersecurity folks. I was looking for guidance on how to serve clients, present my resume effectively, market my skills, gain new clients, and offer a range of services. The session provided exactly what I needed. He gave detailed, thoughtful responses to all of my questions and tailored his advice specifically to my situation. He was also generous with his time. I also picked up a copy of the SIP Systems Audit Template. I've been hesitant about buying documents and templates because I've been disappointed in the past, but after having a video chat with David, I went ahead and bought the audit template. It did not disappoint. It’s essentially 17 different sheets in one and has great notes to help serve clients and do an in-depth audit. Extremely through and well worth the price. Thanks again mate!

Before I joined the SIP, I lost track on my journey transitioning into cyber security. I was in the SIP discord server for a while, but I didn't think participating in 2 live pentest sessions each week would benefit me. I was wrong. DC helped me come up with a career plan. Joining the SIP was part of the plan. I find there is so much to learn during the live pentest sessions. The community itself is very supportive to each member. And there is more. The SIP crew constantly improve the service by introducing industry experts to speak, mental health workshops, personal branding and so on. There are gems to be found every week. I am not in the industry yet, but the SIP definitely sets me on the track.

I had the privilege of being part of the Safer Internet Project (SIP). During my time with SIP, I had the opportunity to engage in immersive hands-on labs and write professional security assessment reports. This experience has proven invaluable in more ways than one. SIP's Shadow Pentest sessions increased my knowledge base and provided me with real-world experience. This newfound expertise has not only boosted my confidence but also enhanced my marketability in the cybersecurity field. I'm excited about the possibilities this added expertise opens up for my career, and I'm grateful to SIP for the platform to grow and learn.

A Truly Transformative Experience – The Safer Internet Project My name is Will, and as someone who has recently taken the leap into starting my own cybersecurity consultancy, I can confidently say that The Safer Internet Project has been a game-changer in my journey. From day one, the hands-on experience has been nothing short of excellent. The program doesn’t just teach theory – it immerses you in real-world scenarios, allowing you to apply your skills in meaningful and impactful ways. Every audit I’ve performed through SIP has not only strengthened my capabilities but has also become a valuable addition to my CV. It’s rare to find an initiative that helps you build real industry experience while actively supporting the field at the same time. The guidance throughout has been second to none. The team—especially Dave—has been consistently available, providing clear, concise, and incredibly helpful support. Their knowledge of the cyber industry is deep and current, and their willingness to share that expertise has given me the confidence to step out into the real world with clarity and direction. The best thing about The Safer Internet Project? The people. The staff are super friendly, always approachable, and genuinely invested in your success. The active help and encouragement I received made all the difference. I can’t speak more highly of Dave and the entire SIP team. Thanks to SIP, I’m not just closer to getting a job—I’m already building a career. 100% recommended to anyone looking to get a real start in cybersecurity.

I'm Leo, and I have had the pleasure of joining the Safer Internet Project in a later point in my career as a penetration tester. I believe SIP is one of the best resources for new cybersecurity professionals to improve their skillset as well as getting that real life experience that every job is asking for. Particularly I joined to learn more about the freelancing path and how I can succeed as a freelancer. I can say it didn't let me down, SIP showed me what I was doing great, what can I improve and how I can make this profitable, without selling the dream of "you're gonna make it because I say so", they tell you "you're gonna make it, because you did what had to be done, you did all the hard work that is required to succeed". As of now, I'm on the path of becoming a full fledged freelancer and already have a list of possible clients.

The Safer Internet Project offers hands-on experience guided by seasoned professionals who have spent years in the industry. The passionate team is always ready to assist with questions and share their knowledge. Beyond providing technical expertise and great learning opportunities, SIP recognizes the significance of mental health and work-life balance and includes sessions focusing on these crucial aspects as well. All in all, it's a great community to be a part of.

I am thrilled to share my experience with SIP , a game-changing program that has transformed my cyber journey. As a graduate armed with CompTIA certificates, I was equipped with theoretical knowledge but found myself grappling with the lack of practical experience. That's when SIP came in and truly bridged the gap between learning theory and gaining real-life experience. The mentors at 'SIP' were not just educators, but industry veterans who shared their insights, experiences, and guidance, making my learning journey immensely enriching. The program's emphasis on practical skills, combined with its supportive community, empowered me to refine my technical abilities.

I've had the privilege of mentoring multiple high-school graduates eager to carve a niche for themselves in the cyber security industry. Whenever they seek advice on gaining real-world experience, my immediate recommendation is always 'SIP'. After each training session, their enthusiasm is clear, with all of them going on and on about how much they had learnt. SIP has undoubtedly become my top recommendation for anyone aspiring to gain genuine, practical experience."

I went to my first SIP free information session last night on the topic of freelancing in cybersecurity and I'm glad I came along It opened my mind to the possibilities that lay down the track if I wish to pursue this style of work. Hearing from David's first hand experience proved to be meaningful in giving me an insight into what freelancing involves and some of the challenges that are faced along the way. Even led me to ponder taking it up in the future. Definitely would recommend to come and gain something useful from David's talks and participate actively in the SIP.

I recently completed a certificate IV in Cyber Security and set out to find people that shared the same interest and knowledge. I attended the Freelancing live session which was full of information that you havent really thought about before. Being able to interact and ask questions helps to be able to understand more in detail. When you try and learn through other platforms its hard to ask the questions you have but with SIP because its a live session you can run through any issues. This was the first session i attended but will definitely be attending more in the future. Well done on creating such a great and active environment.

I am currently a third year computer science student studying online in rural Australia. Living in such a remote part of the country, I found SIP to be an amazing resource for me to expand upon my cyber-security knowledge by allowing me to assist with real-world engagements. This experience was also instrumental to increasing my confidence to apply for and commence work in the IT industry. There are so many positive aspects to the Safer Internet Project, but ultimately having David and Gareth in your corner to assist and mentor your professional development is something that I have found to be invaluable.

My name is Richard Rance and I have been with The Safer Internet Project for almost a year. SIP (as we call it) has upskilled me quickly as I started with little experience. Through learning modules, shadow pentest sessions (where we can follow along and hack real websites side-by-side with the professionals), and meetings through zoom, I was able to go from zero to hero skill-wise. Since I started applying for jobs a few months ago, I have gotten 2-3 interviews per week. This is the most interviews at one time I have received in any field I have worked. I'm now working on my interview prep, as that is a skill in itself. The best thing about The Safer Internet Project is the teamwork and support from the other members. I have been given so many recommendations and links to free resources that it would have taken me years to gather this amount of infromation on my own. Although, anything can be found online, you have to decide how long you want to stumble around in the dark before finding the gems. The Safer Internet Project is your shortcut to knowledge. I can't recommend them enough!

The people that you work with are willing to provide tips/tricks to help upskill your knowledge. SIP helped in different ways which was beneficial.

My name is Kris Ilie and I am proud to say I am currently a cloud cybersecurity professional. With the Safer Internet Project(SIP) I got to take on hands-on labs and writing professional security assessment reports while adhering to relevant professional cybersecurity guidelines. I learned a lot of valuable time management and project management techniques while at SIP which I have carried on in my job. With the support of both the team at SIP and the community for both job-seeking advice, learning technical skills and David Lee's personal help in resume writing I got my first job in cybersecurity!

Name is Mitch and I've particupated in numerous different online sessions which were all great and amazing. The people that you work with are willing to provide tips/tricks to help upskill your knowledge. SIP helped in different ways which was beneficial. As for obtaining a job wise, I was already working for HackTheBox when going in. Overall, there is no bullshit talk in regards to learning and there are no secrets withheld. Everyone is there to learn and grow.

My journey with the Safer Internet Project has been one of the best learning experiences I've had. As a student, the ability to do the work at my own pace is invaluable to me, and the zoom sessions are at different times so they are convenient for all. Now, I'm ready to take on the working world. Thanks SIP!
