Justine's site has been very helpful. I'm a woodworker and I design all of my projects using SketchUp. So my use of SU is sort of episodic, design for a while then build for while. This means I will forget exactly how I got SU to preform a specific function. I have found Justin's videos just perfect for a quick refresher on a specific topic which I may have forgotten how to accomplish. I have started learning sketchup from this channel from the very beginning of my architecture journey. Not just sketchup but also Vray and Rhino from you. The way you break down the processes of 3D modelling in very simple way is the why it is so useful for learners. Even today whenever i am stuck on anything about 3D modelling i would look it up in your channel.

Well to say I owe you a review is a gross understatement. I absolutely feel like I owe you money. I have made money by using your videos. I came to SketchUp after being a long time user of Autocad. To back up a bit I ran into a road block in life and I needed to find a way to quickly make some money so i could survive. I was already an builder but i needed to find a way to make drawings so that i could win bigger contracts. When I first turned on sketchup I thought , no big deal as an autodesk user i will have no problem using this tool. The reality was that i was completely lost. I ran to the internet for help. The first YouTube videos I landed on were those of Sketchup Essentials. I am pretty sure it was a tutorial on the push pull tool or at least that was included. That was the start. After that, anytime i ran into an issue i would simply find a SketchUp essentials video on the subject and Justin would help me find my way. I have watched other videos on other channels from time to time if they popped up first or caught my eye in some way , but each time i would find the information hard to understand and i would always wind up back at SketchUp essentials to figure it out. I think I am about five years into using this tool now and I have learned almost everything I know about using SketchUp by watching SketchUp Essentials. Today I am at the level where I am drawing full plans to submit to the building department for permitting. During my last project I drew the project after a meeting with the client once. The client just happened top be the principle owner of a high end commercial architecture firm . I was a weird back and forth where i first drew the final version and then the team at the architecture firm pulled if into revit and did their architect thing. I was proud of the drawings i had created and I 100% credit SketchUp essentials for my ability to make them. SketchUp Essentials has helped me to get to the level that allows me to create good conceptual drawings that i use with the client to win projects. It has made all the difference. I intend to sign up for a full program in the fall to fill in the gaps in my SketchUp skills. I encourage any one ,especially a builder that wants to use the tool, to sign up for a full course. I am certain that my learning curve would have been shorter and my proficiency with SketchUp would be more advanced if I had done that. In term of a rating , I give SketchUp Essentials 5 Stars.

The "organic" modeling videos are a lifesaver specially with the terrain plugins. There are so many options in this videos. Sketchup itself are really easy to use, but if you wanna take serious for work or studies, Justin are the best, sharing good plugins and tips to make your work easier and faster. Hi Justin. I was introduced to Sketchup 10 years ago and used it to design simple DIY projects like chicken coops or small decks. I had never been taught how to use it and just fumbled my way through knowing the bare minimum. ( I never used groups or components just one big tangle of lines 😬) I'm now a full time builder and design my own projects thanks to your " learn sketch up in 30 days" playlist. Admittedly I stopped at day 18 as I needed to use the skills you taught in application otherwise I'd forget. Since watching your videos my tangle of lines has evolved into a build plan from start to finish, granted still rough around the edges but definitely good enough to accomplish my needs, and I'm sure I'll be able to polish the roughness out with the last 12 days of the playlist. I use Sketchup 2017 as its free ( possibly illegal ) download found after a quick Google search. I tell you this as it's possible a large chunk of your audience is using this same program as it has all the pro features and is more than adequate for majority of DIYers without the hefty yearly subscription. ( and better than the free online version currently offered in my opinion ). But it's drawbacks are it lacks the amazing add ons. Like the ability to create a cut list, or material list from your design would be a huge time saver for me, as well as you can't use the layout app to turn the model into a printable plan. Due to those reasons I will be purchasing the full version to continue my work, but hopefully knowing this information will assist you in someway moving forward. As far what what content I would like to see in future I think your back catalog of learning Sketchup is so vast if you haven't all ready done a video on it I cant imagine it's something I would need to know. But I do think it would be a cool video or series to watch you design a intricate building from start to finish, maybe even something fictional like Hogwarts. The Sketchup Essentials videos are the reason I use sketchup today. I was given the task of designing golf putting courses for my family business - an unusual task for me as I had not used a computer for years. With the help from multiple video tutorials - I am now able to churn out designs. Our latest golf putting course recently opened in Branson, Missouri at The Social Birdy. The design of th course layout, drainage system and blue prints were all done via sketchup. All the skills I used were learned from watching Sketchup Essentials on YouTube.

I am a sporadic Sketchup user & sometimes have long periods of time between projects, so have to re-learn or search quickly for tasks I don't know how to do or have forgotten. Justin's Sketchup Essentials videos have saved me many times over the past few years as he has covered just about everything at some point. The trick is to look for the most recent videos as some Sketchup features have changed or been re-named. Like "Layers" has become "tags", etc. I would take the full course if I used the program more, which I hope will happen at some point because I LOVE using Sketchup. You can get into a pretty frustrating hole if you don't know what you're doing, so I recommend this channel when searching for answers.

Would have never started down the road of CAD if not for Justin and his work. It quite literally set my life in motion. I found Justins channel during my first year of college, I was already two semesters in and still had no idea what I wanted to do or what I was going to major in. Once I found out the possibilities with CAD (mainly through the medium of Sketchup)I was hooked. I can't imagine the next generation of young people coming through that are going to benefit from the mountain of information Justin has worked tirelessly to put out there. A true gift to the world if there ever was one.

I've seen quite a few of your Sketchup beginner videos, and various videos about plugins. These have helped me a lot to draw more efficiently. I mainly use Sketchup for woodworking projects and to design 3D prints. I can't afford to buy Sketchup Pro (I am retired and 68 years old), so I still use Sketchup Make 2017, with various plugins. I think the web version is too scratchy and the option to expand with plugins is non-existent. The last project I drew was a cover for my terrace, and the drawing helped me a great deal with overviewing and pricing the project. I would definitely recommend the channel, both to beginners and to more experienced users of Sketchup.

Been following Justin's channel for a couple of years now and have watched so many of his tutorial's and extension reviews, that I probably couldn't pick one that was the most helpful, as there have been so many that have been invaluable. He is always my go to place to look for tutorials when there is something I'm stuck with. I haven't done his course, but imagine that it will be superb, if his YT channel is anything to go by! I started self-learning Sketchup about a year ago and have since moved into using V-Ray as well. As an interior design student, the program I had to learn and get familiar with was SketchUp. It was my first time using a 3D program, so as soon as I got it, I started looking for tutorials. I came across the video called "Importing CAD Files to SketchUp" a really easy and well explained tutorial that helped me to start with multiple projects. I found a very complete channel with lots of tutorials and plugins and not only for SketchUp but LayOut also. I love Justin's teaching method. I have gone from a complete novice to designing my own complex woodworking and shop projects, complete with parts and cut lists. Complete training. I have watched many other videos and none of them are as easy or logical as Sketchup Essentials.

I have learned so much from the channel, and my favourite videos are tutorials about how to use specific plugins and extensions. I have learned how to combine different plugins which has transformed my workflow, and sped up my design process no end. I would love more garden design and landscaping-specific content, but I know that's quite a specialist subject! Thanks Justin!

Absolutely the best help with learning Sketchup. Sketchup is a great tool, however, there is so much practical knowledge they don't share. Very helpful tutorial in plugin practice, as a drafter, this channel really helps me in solving problems in projects, both 2D and 3D drawings. This channel is highly recommended for beginner drafters, the content is expected In the future, the use of dimensions in layout worksheets will be more efficient.

Out of all the SketchUp tutorials I explored, Justin’s SketchUp Essentials quickly became my go-to resource. I was in my 2nd Sem of Architecture college when the pandemic hit and our Uni didn't really do a good job at teaching softwares online. Your channel was extremely helpful and I wouldn't have learnt SketchUp without your videos. The initial videos that walked the viewers through the entire software and the ones on various plugins and rendering softwares have been particularly useful.
