For more than twenty years, I wandered. I doubted. I believed in God, but I didn’t know how to follow Him. I didn’t understand Scripture, and without that foundation, my faith never grew. I wanted to change, but I didn’t know where to begin. Nine weeks ago, everything shifted. I started listening to Through the Word every single day — on my USPS route, walking miles with earbuds in, letting Scripture fill the quiet places of my life. And for the first time, the Bible made sense. TTW didn’t just help me read the Word; it helped me dig into it, understand it, connect it, and hear God speaking through it. In those nine weeks, I completed the first eight journeys. Books I once avoided became clear. Passages I never understood suddenly came alive. And as the Word opened up, so did my heart. My faith was rebuilt from the ground up. Because of that, I gave my life fully to Christ. And I was baptized. TTW played a direct role in my transformation. Your teaching helped bring me home after twenty years of wandering. But the impact didn’t stop with me — it overflowed. Now that I’ve found Jesus, I’m sharing the good news like I never would have before. I take every opportunity to disciple someone. I post daily recaps of what I’m learning on Facebook, and those posts have led people to reach out, ask questions, and talk with me about the Bible. God is using TTW not just to change my life, but to reach others through me. I am a prodigal that has returned to my heavenly Fathers house. I am a 51 year old who attended church everytime the doors were opened as a from infancy until I turned 14. after some very personal setbacks, I was placed into the foster care system and my new foster family were not Christians which pretty much meant I wasnt a Christian anymore either. I had gotten baptized at 13 and even participated on my churchs bible bowl team but it honestly changed nothing about my day to day life. I still acted as I always had because I realize now I had only done it to appease my father. i aged out of the foster care system at 18. fast forward about 30 years or so and church was a distant memory. I knew churches still existed but I didnt attend. I told myself I knew the Bible and had been baptized so surely id go to heaven. in 2000 i was involved in a car accident and the doctors thought id never walk again. so i was drinking and self medicating to cope with the day to day pain. last year Charlie Kirk was savagely murdered. for weeks afterward I would break down crying and I had no idea why. I didnt know him, had only seen clips theyve shown of him on FB. I asked a Christian I know why this was happening to me, why was I weeping for a man I didnt know and had never met. (honestly I thought I was going crazy) he told me that the reason I was crying over CK was because that was what was left of the goodness in me mourning the loss of the goodness in him. he explained it was actually a good thing because it meant the Holy Spirit was still calling out to me. that hit home for me. I found a Bible and began praying and reading daily. however, theres alot to the Bible so having a structured reading program like TTW makes reading and understanding Gods word so much easier. i just finished up Journey 1 and am eager to start my next session. I am applying for disability for my back so I have tons of free time. Reading the Bible and praying daily has strengthened my marriage too. dont get me wrong, its was good before but now its great. things have improved for us tremendously (spiritually at least) so much so that my wife and I are both due to be baptized in the coming week. my only real regret is that I wasted those 30 years trying to do the impossible, which is outrun God. as I stated previously, im 51 and I dont know how much time ive got left but I ask God daily to use me however he sees fit because ive dedicated the remainder of my days in service to him and the glory of his kingdom. I realize you didnt ask for the whole back story but context is important. when God finally got through to me, he took away my desire to abuse substances. I had previously quit drinking because it simply wasn't fun anymore. now I am clean and sober for the first time in my life. I count my blessings daily that I didnt end up in the grave before I was able to make amends and return to my heavenly Fathers house. I always love to hear the story as presented by Peyton Jones and brings humor and thought-provoking questions to my mind. I love falling the reign of David and how that fit into King Solomon.

Through the Word has been a tremendous blessing in strengthening my faith. I have spent years reading and listening to Christian-focused resources on theology and apologetics, but the most powerful evidence for the truth of Christianity is God's word itself. My men's group is studying the book of Hebrews. I listened to Kris's commentary and felt led to start going through the Pentateuch. TTW's commentaries have brought so much depth of understanding and appreciation of God's holiness and His redemptive plan through Christ. I never thought I would get excited about reading Leviticus :) God is showing me the beautiful tapestry of His word as I study Hebrews and also the Old Testament source material that Hebrews uses to explain the importance of Christ's work. It's like a flat picture becoming three dimensional or a tuning fork ringing at its resonant frequency. The only explanation is that God orchestrated it, and the only proper response is to worship Him. Keep up your faithful work.

I was looking for a different Bible Study and found TTW on Youversion. After completing that plan, I found the TTW app. I’m so thankful. I even got my mom listening. I feel like I finally understand the Bible smarter reading it for years.

I have been led by God to work through James. Partly because it is loaded with practical advise, I have broken from the “daily” verse reading and digging in to the wisdom of James. After more than a week I’m still in James 2. The TTW content helps greatly as I seek to “feed” here until the Lord says, next verse.

I love my new habit of daily scripture. It is touching every area of my life, and I am so very thankful.

This psalm ( Psalm 139) is one of my favorite Psalms. It helped me to understand that God determined all my days BEFORE we were born. It helped me to find peace when my son passed away and I was suffering from guilt that maybe I could have done something different so that he may still live. I learned just like our names are in the book of life, so is the date of our passing. It gives me peace.

Just finished Exodus with Kris and Peyton. A book that I dreaded so much and how I now loved so very much. If anyone really wants to know the very heart of God, You really have to journey through this Book with these anointed teachers. Kept saying to myself why did I stayed away from this blessings for so very long. What a bag full of lessons to grow your faith. The Christian walk comes with trials, but it is a walk with MY GOD.

TTW has helped me to better know God, His greatness and His power and love.

TTW has touched my life so much through the different chapters. The one thing I love so much is hearing the educational backstory that you don't necessarily get just by reading the scriptures. It would never cross my mind to research such things. Such things like Jesus being offered the wine with vinegar and how Jesus refused it even though he was very thirsty because he knew the vinegar mixed in the wine would make him more thirsty. This is an example of how my eyes are opened to more than just reading the scriptures. I love how TTW is presented and taught prior to reading or listening to each chapter or Bible plan. Thank you so much for what you do as you have greatly increased my beliefs and understanding of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

I am a fairly new Christian. I surrender and accepted Jesus as my savior and Messiah on March 15th 2026. So these journeys are helping me learn about the Bible and help my faith grow. I wake up and pray then I hear a proverbs a day and I listen to the book in the Journey part of the app. I have only one eye and this app makes it so much easier for me to follow along.

I am slowly getting through the Bible and the more I learn the more. I am curious about more and more questions. I have that I know one day Jesus will answer for me. Personally, I appreciated John’s. Love is love for Jesus to take the time to write letters personally to all of us and to give his greetings, even though he knew he’d be gone in heaven, he still sends his greetings. I thought that was beautiful and it just shows God‘s love so amazingly.

Healthcare schedule makes in person Bible study a challenge. The head of our Fellowship ministry at church invited me to download the app and join her group. I started a journey on my own too. The big picture journey 2. In 4 days I've gone through 12 lessons. I've always wanted to read the entire Bible. I'm learning so much about my God .

I probably have said this before but if I did it's worth repeating... I've been a Christian for more yrs than I care to count (50+ yrs)... been in ministry in one way or another for most of them but never got an understanding of God's Word as I have since joining Chris & Peyton w TTW. As I listened to, “Science and the Bible”, the sovereignty of God is so evident and humbling. The call to seek out wisdom, and drive forward compelled by the eternity placed in our hearts, is begged of the listener. This should stir up the heart to seek more and more the beauty of our Father in heaven created to be revealed in us all.

Loving the Journeys, been doing a daily reading plan for years but found new excitement in the Journey

The explanations and descriptions in the guides have helped clear the fog of communication cause by the passage of time and the differences between our culture and those of biblical times. It helps us to see the Truth.

Having attended church for over six decades and have read the Bible several times, including a deep study of Romans, my experience with TTW Romans has been insightful. As I listen to the scripture, I am amazed by how clear and straightforward the scripture is. It feels as though it’s a personal translation just for me. The 10-minute clips are not only engaging but also helpful, exciting, and feels pertinent for my walk at this time. I believe it is the Holy Spirit that brings the scripture to life and speaks to my soul. Thank you for this incredible experience.

This was my first time to read/hear the complete book of Genesis. I did not realize that 99% of the Bible stories I've heard all my 55 years originated from Genesis! The way Kris Langham explained each chapter especially the B sides really broadened my understanding of this book of the Bible. The extra references given are also very much appreciated. I encourage my friends that say they just don't have time to read, but I constantly see them on their phones to download TTW!! I am looking forward to listening to the entire Bible on TTW! Now on to Exodus.

TTW has helped me recognize the love of God, who loved me first and sent His only Son, sinless and pure, to die for my sins. I accept, trust, and strive to follow His commands, always calling upon the Lord for forgiveness, fully aware of my shortcomings and unworthiness before Him. I often times listen to Psalms at night if for some reason I wake up and have trouble going back to sleep. Instead of letting the enemy get brain space I invite God’s word in. I’ll wake up in the morning realizing that I was able to sleep peacefully. 💕

Plan 8 really gave me insight on the Psalms in particular. They provided me with context of what was going on during the timeline of the Psalms so I could better grasp the meaning of each psalm beyond in basic beauty and praise.

I absolutely love this app\. It has given me the opportunity to dig much deeper into God’s Word with thoughtful guidance and biblical insight. I used another app before, but once I discovered this one, it truly changed my life\. It has helped me develop a deeper love for studying Scripture, and I find myself wanting to spend more and more time in God’s Word every day. Leviticus has been a book of the Bible that I have had little understanding over the decades of my Christian walk for decades. But now, after Peyton’s insightful teaching Leviticus is creating improved my understanding.

I love this book. I found it very convicting. I recognized that it is so easy to fall into the flesh and it takes a concerted effort to walk in the spirit. God gives us his grace freely. Today is a big day. It is the last day of a personal endeavor I started over two years ago to read the entire Bible chapter by chapter front to back. My plan has been to read the chapter and listen to TTW and one other program every morning before I do anything else. It has changed my life. I grew up as a church going Christian, but as a kid I didn't truly understand the meaning of church or who Christ really is. As I got older, I began to question the purpose of going to church. I couldn't see what value I was gaining beyond learning to be a good and responsible person, and for a time I stopped attending. Even so, I never stopped believing that God was real, and I continued to pray while searching for answers about the true purpose of Christianity. Then I began seeing the Through the Word advertisement on YouTube day after day. It felt like a sign, so I decided to listen. From that moment, everything changed. Through those teachings, I gained a deeper understanding of Christ, the Bible, and the purpose of the Church and its ministry. It was as though my eyes had finally been opened. I am deeply grateful for the knowledge and understanding I have received, and I now make it a priority to share it with others who may be in the same place I once was, searching for meaning and truth.

Greetings, This plan is really interesting and has made studying the Bible simple. It feels like real life experience in a class with Chris while sharing his honest thoughts. As you try to gather your thoughts on each chapter and summarize the lesson, here comes Chris to make it real engaging and interactive like in a Bible study class. This plan has truly changed me, Lately I was sharing the gospel in a manner where I didn’t touch the lives of others and I started to lose my motivation but this bible plan gave me my spark back by giving me ways to share my faith. At first when I shared the gospel it was very repetitive and I would send verses of the day but by listening to this I’m actually able to touch the hearts of others and I was able to learn more about God and myself along the way while also strengthening my relationship with God. So taking in all that I want to Thank God for allowing Through the Word to be a community that’s apart of my life and I pray that God allows this community to be apart of many more.
