Two year old "reading" on her own or listening to Gramma read, it is truly "The Story of All Stories" that is ageless. I am excited to hear my 6 yr old grandson read (with some assistance) the Nativity story to me when he comes for Christmas.

We were searching for a beautiful children’s Bible that would grow with our 7-year-old twins (the official target audience of 7–12) while still feeling accessible to our very eager 5-year-old daughter. “The Story of All Stories” has turned out to be nothing short of a family miracle. This is a children’s Bible written for ages 7–12, yet somehow it has completely captivated our 5-year-old as well. The publisher’s recommended range is perfect: the narrative has the depth, beauty, and gentle theological weight that 7–12-year-olds crave while the warm, lyrical storytelling and breathtaking illustrations keep our kindergartner glued to every page. The book presents the entire Bible as one great, interconnected love story. Every major account - Creation, Fall, Flood, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, Esther, the Prophets, the manger in Bethlehem, the cross, empty tomb, and the promise of everything made new - is woven into a single, seamless tapestry. It never feels like a string of disconnected Sunday-school stories; children experience Scripture the way it was always meant to be heard—as the one great Story of a loving God coming to rescue and restore His children. The language is exquisite: rich, poetic, and unmistakably biblical in flavor, yet perfectly pitched for 7–12-year-olds. It’s delivered with wonder and joy instead of lectures. Our twins ask big, beautiful questions every night; our 5-year-old mostly soaks in the beauty and chimes in with “Jesus fixed it!” at all the right moments. And the illustrations—these are the kind you frame and pass down for generations. Yes, it’s written for 7–12-year-olds, and it is absolutely perfect for that range—our twins declare it the best book in the universe. But the magic is that our 5-year-old refuses to be left out and sits mesmerised through every chapter. In a house with a three-year age gap, that’s pure grace. If you have children between 7 and 12 and want them to fall heart-first in love with the Bible, this is the one. If you have younger siblings tagging along, don’t hesitate—they’ll be just as enchanted. We’re already on our second journey through it, and the wonder is only growing. A million shining stars from our whole family.

The Story of All Stories, is a Bible for children from the Old Testament to the New Testament. It has beautiful pictures & written perfectly.

My favorite thing about The Story of All Stories is EVERYTHING! When it arrived, I couldn’t wait to start reading it. I don’t have children, so I purchased the book for myself. My favorite genre of literature is picture books, and this is the Picture Book of All Picture Books! I like the order of the book; it tells the story of God’s love for us. The Key Points and Key Connections created some aha moments for me that I hadn’t considered in my 63 years! Since the book arrived, I have told Catholic and non-Catholic friends, family, and even total strangers about it. I ask if they are looking for a children’s Bible and tell them that this is the one to buy! The quality of the materials used in the printing of the book is in line with what I’ve come to expect from Word on Fire. I do have a few suggestions: The age range should be 7-107! Can you create a smaller board book version for the 0-5 age range? How about a rosary book for young readers with pictures and meditations from this Story? Thank you for creating and publishing this quality volume. I’ve already ordered three more for my fallen-away and unbaptized family members!

My kids are grown so I bought this in anticipation of grandkids...but I'm reading it and really enjoying it. It's lending context to the biblical stories as well as distillations of main points that I find engaging and helpful. I'm recommending it when I can to younger moms who have kiddos in the 7-13ish age group.

The book is absolutely beautifully made and written in a way that keeps kids of all ages engaged. I read it to my kids who range from 1.5 years old to 12 and each of them had a little nugget of information that they were able to learn from the text. I love how it ties the Old Testament to the New Testament. My 12 year olds mind was blown and we’ve only read the 1st two stories and he said, “That all makes so much sense!” They were very eager to keep reading more but we had to somewhere to be or else I’m sure we would have been there for quite some more time reading. Very well written, beautiful illustrations and a priceless history lesson all Catholics (not only children) need to learn! Can’t recommend this enough! If you’re on the fence about it just jump off and go for it! You won’t regret it!

The book is well made. A plus for many hands. This is a real treasure for my 12 grandchildren. Easy for many ages to understand the Bible stories and the illustrations are beautiful.

I bought 5 for all my grandchildren. I am going to buy many more! I teach Faith Formation to children K - 7, and I also help with OICA, these books are fantastic for all ages. I believe we don’t have to make our Faith complicated. This explains why we believe what we believe, and how this belief has been around for thousands of years. I love the key quotes and most of all I think the key connections help bring the whole Bible together in an easy to read and understand format!

I think that this is the best book that Word on Fire has published! It is so beautifully written and the illustrations are the icing on the cake. I love the Key Points and Key Connections. They tie everything together. I find myself losing track of time when I read it. Well done!!!

The art in this book is spectacular, and the text is comprehensive and informative. It's a little lacking in drama--the "story" in "story Bible" is sometimes lacking. Because of all the other things the author is juggling, it's sometimes more like a textbook than the story Bibles parents may be used to--but it's so far above all other books of its kind that I give it full marks. It should be on every Catholic child's bookshelf!

A BIBLE FOR ALL, (NOT JUST KIDS)
It is beautifully written. It doesn't change the Scripture at all. It just presents it in a more relatable way by making it into a story. I found the stories very interesting.

Wonderful layout, stories and pictures.
Such beautiful story-telling and engaging illustrations. My 6 year old niece loves picking a few ‘chapters’ each day. You have brought the Bible to a new generation of children in an incredible way. Bravo Emily Stimpson Chapman.

Beautifully written, beautifully illustrated. It is so lovely to see a Catholic-specific children’s Bible and the connections at the end of every story are what makes this Bible truly special!

Beautiful Catholic children’s bible
Beautiful retelling of Bible stories for children to understand. Especially love how connections between the Old and New Testaments are made. Easy and enjoyable for parents to read or for older kids to read alone! Would recommend for every home with young Catholics!

Masterpiece
Absolutely incredible. Does not water down the faith AT ALL. It's deeply theological for a child, and beautifully written/illustrated. The WOF ministry is no doubt guided by the Holy Spirit. Every publication they come out with glorifies God in more and more incredible ways. I cannot wait for my baby girl to recieve this bible and for me to read to her from it.

So well done
This story bible is fantastic! I have a masters in theology and I just love how accessibility for kids doesn’t sacrifice depth. I love how the thread of Gods love story for us is woven throughout and the illustrations are masterful. Well done Emily Stimpson Chapman and word on fire!

A great resource
This is an ideal Bible for any child including children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The pictures are beautiful, the text clear and easy to read, the format is open and spacious, and the stories are well done. The only negative is the weight of the book which may be too heavy for some children. A lighter weight book would have been preferable. Still, this is a great resource to help our special needs children learn the Bible.

Love
I absolutely love this book — calling it the best children’s Bible doesn’t even do it justice! It’s so beautifully written that I’ve found myself wanting to read it cover to cover like a novel. Instead, I’ve been reading one chapter each evening to my children, and we’re all completely engaged. Even my husband, who usually tunes out when we read the Bible has been listening! The storytelling flows so naturally, and the way it connects the Old and New Testaments adds such rich meaning. It’s been sparking wonderful conversations and deep questions from all of us. This story isn’t just for children — it’s something the whole family can grow with and enjoy together.

This book has opened up opportunities for me and my wife to share Gods message in a fun and exciting way with our children and young relatives, while also being extremely fruitful to our own spiritual journey. It’s a 10/10 and I highly recommend it!

Illustrations are beautiful, the summarizing of the stories remains true to the Bible without dumbing it down, and the kids love getting a story each night at bedtime. The perfect length. Love this book, thank you Word on Fire!

Awesome book
Easy for kids to understand. Great addition to any library

We bought this for our first grand baby who is currently only 7 months old. Although it will be years before he is ready to be read to from this, we wanted to have a copy for his future. Remembering how much we loved reading books our own grandparents kept on hand at their houses (Little House on the Prairie, Guinness World Records, etc.), we hope this one will be a delight for our sweet lil' fellow while teaching him about God.

The illustrations are captivating to my small children. Visuals are very important to my family. We just started with the introduction and I am very impressed so far. The quality is fabulous as I have come to expect from Word on Fire books. We look forward to diving into the stories more deeply throughout the year.

Thank you for this gift. What I have read I’ve enjoyed. I’m planning on sharing with my grandchildren. I feel it is a good level for younger children. I really like all the Key elements. They remind me of the elements in my Word on Fire Bibles. They give the story’s so much more in helping me understand. It is a beautiful book. Great quality just like my Bibles. Very impressive for a book meant for young readers. It is something that will really hold up over time. The Bible is a forever gift. Thank you again for this wonderful gift. I will enjoy it.
