I decided to start OT pioneers to initiate my own personal journey with pelvic health in gaining more awareness and knowledge to support my evolving OT lens and skillset. I decided to join this program because it is a trauma course geared specifically for Pelvic Health OTs made by OTs. I am enjoying this program so much because it gives use concrete interventions and the ability to engage in the interventions ourselves so that we can gain a sense of what our clients will experience. At first, I was hesitant to join because I was taking another course at the same time and wasn't sure it would be manageable but the way it is structured has made it easy to keep up with the work and to be honest, it really doesn't feel like work. The guest speakers provide expert insights from a variety of topics relevant to clinicians hoping to work in settings when trauma-informed care is essential. The live support calls provide opportunity to create community, network with colleagues as well as access to instructors to clarify points or respond to questions. The instructors provide a varied and extensive library of interventions to use with clients as well as printed resource materials. Real life applications of techniques are explained thoroughly and major concepts are explained in easily digestible portions. I am using so many things from this brilliant course with success with my clients already!

I recently started my own pelvic health practice specializing in perinatal people. I chose the Trauma-Informed Pelvic Health Certification because I felt that this was the way to really bridge the gap between the biological and psychosocial aspects of pelvic health and that this would set me apart from other local providers. At first I was concerned that I was too new to pelvic health to delve into a specialty, but I feel like I came home as a therapist after taking this course. This certification equipped me not only with indispensable strategies to use with my clients. but also with relevant tools for my own self-care, both as a therapist and a human being.

The trauma informed care pelvic floor certification has truly changed how I practice. The information was complex yet digestible and allowed me to start implementing into my treatment sessions as soon as the first week. It also challenged me and taught me more about myself in so many ways. The community experience I had during the certification was one of a kind. My favorite part of all is that I left the in person training in Sedona with my cup filled up. It's not just about how to treat your clients, what's more important is how you take care of yourself to be able to serve your clients effectively every day.

This experience has profoundly enriched my approach as an OT, allowing me to better understand and address the emotional, and sometimes traumatic, contributors to a client's pelvic heath. We brainstormed sensitive ways to talk, validate, interview and really get to know someone’s experience. Learning to integrate both the physical and emotional aspects of healing has equipped me to offer more compassionate and effective care to my patients. It’s a privilege to bring this knowledge into my practice and support the healing journey of the women I work with.

I have been an OT for over 14 years with a background in pediatrics (hospital and school settings), geriatrics/home care and management. I had become really disenchanted with occupational therapy as a profession. I tried different settings and management positions and I consistently felt overworked, burned out or overwhelmed by the settings where I was treating. I began to wonder if I had chosen the right profession. I was SO tired. I was inspired to join this course after taking OT Pioneers because I wanted more of the psychosocial piece. The course surpassed my expectations. I was so happy to learn about how to use nervous system regulation, somatic and patient-centered practices (many that I have been using for years for myself) as valid first-line approaches. From intake to discharge, I feel so much more confident and prepared to do this work. I am an OT student who began an interest in the field of pelvic health OT back in the very first term of school. One of my professors introduced me to Lindsey and OT Pioneers and I could not be more grateful!!! This course has gotten me even more excited about this area of practice and really fueled the fire behind my passion. This course has taught me so much about not just the anatomy and fundamentals of various diagnosis, but also how to talk to clients and be empathetic to their vulnerabilities. I am an OT with 5+ years in pediatrics. Having become more involved in infant development and providing therapy services for babies, my eyes have been opened to the gaps in holistic care for their mothers' and have seen firsthand how mom's wellbeing comes second to everything else. This got me interested in pelvic health, which, upon talking to peers, everyone pointed my to Lindsey and OT Pioneers. I jumped in without hesitation and have no regrets! Being fairly new to pelvic floor therapy, I knew I would need some support and a team to lean on in an instant and that is exactly what I am getting from Pelvic OTPs United. Pelvic OTPs United is laid out in an intimate/ organized platform with all information available to apply to my clinical practice. Between the diagnosis deep dives, population specific topics, building a business and live meetups, I am constantly learning, applying and connecting - on so many levels! I have so many favorite parts of the community but the live meetups really light me up. It is a way to connect with other clinicians and feel like we are in the break room together although we are miles and miles apart- informally during case studies and Q and A's with Lindsey or more formally with Expert interviews. It is apparent Lindsey has a passion for pelvic health and supporting this community - I am grateful to be apart of it.

I am so glad to be taking another one of Lindsey's courses after first taking her OT Pioneers course several years ago. Although I'm only midway through OT Elevate, this course is already allowing me to connect knowledge from other courses I've taken and clients I've seen. One thing I appreciate is that this course is less focused on the volume of material and more so on the treatment techniques and clinical reasoning process that is so often left out of CEU courses. I often feel bombarded with information and techniques, and this course offers a balanced approach to complex conditions. The Pelvic OTP’s United has provided an ideal place to learn and share ALL the aspects of growing a career as a Pelvic OT. I enjoy how welcome I feel in the group. I enjoy how safe I feel to share any question and how quickly responses come to those questions! I don’t use social media, so this is my connection to like-minded professionals. I gain so much wisdom and knowledge from other OT's in this platform of sharing. I’m often not able to make the live calls due to the time zone difference, so I might ask that they be at a variety of times or an occasional different time. I am so appreciative of being able to watch them recorded and haven’t missed one yet since I joined! I don’t know of any better way to grow in this niche of OT than what Lindsey is offering. This concept of community and what she has created to help us help each other is brilliant and worth much more than the monthly payment required. Lindsey... where do I begin? You are a guru! As a new PHOT, I know that I can come to you for a wealth of knowledge, but also for real life experience. This platform offers so much learning, while being away from social media. I think we can all agree that social media has its place for connecting and creating, but it is also overwhelming in the sense that everyone seems to know it all and have it all. Taking a break from the overwhelm of not feeling like I have it all or will EVER know it all and just focus on a group with like minded individuals all striving for wellness and growth is incredible. Guest speakers and interviews have helped me so much both putting me at ease and continuing my interest in learning and bettering myself to help others!

The Pelvic OTPs United community is such a great resource for anyone currently practicing or hoping to practice pelvic health! I have 5+ years of OT experience but am new to pelvic health and absolutely love having a community to share wins, ask questions, and collaborate with other therapists about pelvic health. If you're interested in starting your own private practice, the community is also a great way to find others on the same path and find an accountability partner! I know the more this community grows the more valuable it will continue to become.
